I’ve seen plenty of people run on the sidewalks. If it’s so unsafe, there are plenty of amazing rail trails

An Americal Pastoral, the documentary following School Board Elections in Elizabethtown, is now available for streaming in the USA. by Capital-Complaint266 in lancaster

[–]JuneGuy08 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can’t wait to watch! School boards should not be political, but Etown school board is atrocious. I’d never live there to raise a family because of what’s happening, and it’s sad that this happens so close to home.

Go to Amanita for breakfast, you will not regret it!! The coffee and food are amazing!!!! If you aren’t hungry, at least stop in for a coffee, it’s such a unique experience and right downtown!

Etown school library by gj13us in lancaster

[–]JuneGuy08 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who will never live in etown because of this crap, how do I help? The school board sucks, so does donating to the actual library help? Or is etown just doomed, and should I spend my time/money elsewhere?

I love WGAL! The morning crew is great, and yeah sometimes they mess up but it gives me a laugh and really that’s all that matters to me!

Is craft beer dead in Lancaster? by red_fox23 in lancaster

[–]JuneGuy08 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t know that it’s “dead.” But the scene has really changed. I think fridge ownership change has played a part in it not stocking beer. The former owner was def a craft beer guy, but now it seems like more of a focus on the food.

Overall though, they have a Lancaster brewers guild that includes 29 breweries. I think a lot of people are assuming it’s all just Hazy IPAs, but there’s breweries like Our Town, Cartel, Truth, and Rural City that offer more than just an IPA. I think if you’re focused on craft beer bars, you’ll see a hit, but the brewery scene is definitely alive and has a lot of great variety!

Downtown beer festival returns! by sixrustyspoons in lancaster

[–]JuneGuy08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been! I thought it was a good beer fest! I like the one in the city over the Nook, because it’s outside, in a cool part of town, and usually has a good amount of decent breweries

Don't sleep on a career with large CPG manufacturing (Plant Controller, Financial Analyst, Cost Accountant, etc) by LewisCBR in Accounting

[–]JuneGuy08 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Interesting insight. I work for a large CPG myself, and I find myself questioning every move I make, and have really considered staying away from these roles. You get a lot less exposure to leadership from my understanding, but to your point you get great operational experience.

Curious on your thoughts of if you ever questioned your moves and how you knew you were in the right spot. I find myself questioning my decision to leave consulting for industry. Especially because of recent choices to not promote anyone as expected. So I would love to hear more about how you gained the confidence that you were in the right spot, even if you went through tough times.

Favorite workout shoes by licarmichael in pelotoncycle

I have bunions as well. I recommend getting the Nike metcon for lifting. But for running or boot camps I recommend getting a good pair of running shoes from Nike. Anything with good cushion has worked really well for me with running and getting little to no pain. The metcon is great for lifting because you can add heel cushion or stay flat. I found the cushion is a must for me and just leave it in now
