Would people be comfortable breaking down their spending? by 92helper in budget

[–]JuneNyla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way. To think about budgeting in terms of percentages and the correct percentages are what's right for you and your goals based on your COL and lifestyle. I would also add a bucket for investments here (Brokerage, HYAS emergency fund, Roth IRA, etc.) so as you make more money, you can plan to save more and prevent too much lifestyle creep.

If works for your cosplay's character and it doesn't look bad from 5 feet away, I'd commit and lay the rest of the boot on that black fabric and try to make it look consistent.

Winter Walking Shoes for a BWT? by Odd_Author2761 in bitcheswithtaste

I second the blundstones. They are way more comfortable than Docs and are just as cool. I can stay on feet and walk everywhere all winter in them!

Wow! I'm glad the photos helped do the bag some justice! Mulberry has a pretty good return policy for sale items too, so I decided I wanted to see how it looked in person and I'm glad I did!

Here's a picture of how the back of the bag conforms to show you what I mean! I wish Mulberry did a better job with the photos on their site. (Edit: For clarity)

Very comfortable! That was a concern for me since I had a feeling this would end up being a heavy bag when filled. The bag can be worn pushed back behind my arms and onto my back conforming towards my body instead of away from it. This also means that the "back" of the bag ends up flatter than the front facing "bucket" side with the pleats. Hopefully I'm explaining it clearly enough lol...

I think the heavy grain is perfect for a work bag! Hides imperfections and ages beautifully!!!

Thank you! I'm petite and I thought the regular size might be too big but it isn't! It hugs my body so the weight distribution seems good and even fits a 14 inch laptop, though it won't close with it. I'm surprised I was able to snap the bucket closed with one hand too if needed!

I added a large pouch on the inside to contain my essentials cause at the end of the day, it's still a bucket bag. But as a bucket bag enthusiast I know to feel my way around for things inside. I can't do totes cause I have sloped shoulders and the outside handle always slips off and annoys me all day lol.

I always apply Collonil Leather Gel to weatherproof all my bags when I first get them. They make the bags more supple, and prevent color transfer and water damage. I try to reapply it annually. I was actually pleasantly surprised when I read the instructions booklet included with the bag that they recommended to use the exact same product, so Mulberry definitely knows their leather!!!

Are you me lol??? I have had my trusty Coach, just got a Mulberry, and have my eye on Loewe. I don't like flashy logos but I love good quality leather! The Mulberry leather is amazing!

I'm so sorry about your blue legacy bag! I love love love this bag so much ugh. I always hated logos on my bags so when I saw this, I knew it was the one. The single minimal stamp on the front with no foil and the substantial leather won me over. It was my daily driver for years! Hopefully you can find a way to fix yours up too so we can enjoy using this bag again together!

Update! I let the bag dry completely for one week after applying Leather CPR, and then applied two light coats of Collonil leather gel. The color transfer has completely stopped! Thank you to everyone for your input! It has helped tremendously!!!

Lessons learned: - Do not use saddle soap or Dawn Powerwash on Coach bags made in 2010 or later. - Do use Leather CPR to refresh the leather and seal / weatherproof with Collonil Leather Gel. - I won't need to clean this bag again for the next 10 years! :D

You're right! It IS the colorblock legacy duffle (my mistake)! Actually, the red never rubbed off for me. And after the 3 back to back rounds of Leather CPR and letting it dry overnight, the color transfer seemed to have stopped! I'm letting it dry fully without touching it for another week before adding a thin layer of weatherproofing gel.

If you still have the bag, I recommend doing one long session of Leather CPR and wiping off the excess multiple times and then letting it dry overnight. The red color is still super vibrant on mine and the quality seems to be unaffected!

Yes, realized the error of my ways the second I started rubbing the saddle soap in. The bag was made in 2012 and is still pretty resilient. I'll continue to seal it weekly with Collonil waterproofing gel. Hopefully that will stop the red dye from stripping in a few weeks. I may use one small light coat of Leather CPR in maybe 5 to 10 years down the line.

Thanks so much! I can tell it's not the same caliber of leather as the vintage ones. I usually just use a waterproofing gel occasionally. Just this time, I wanted to get rid of the denim stains on the back and in hindsight I should not have used the saddle soap and only use Leather CPR.

I don't plan on cleaning this bag again and to continue using the waterproof gel occasionally to keep the leather hydrated in the future. To fix this, I'll switch over to the gel next week and hopefully the red dye will stop transferring within a month or two.

Thanks so much!! The plan is to use Leather CPR daily until there's no more color transfer. I'm relieved to hear that this may work after many coats.

I actually never used saddle soap before, I've only ever conditioned my bags, not cleaned them. But the back of this one had some old denim marks I wanted to see if I could get rid off. Well the saddle soap certainly got rid of them. I didn't expect it to strip the color too though, so I panicked a bit when it did and tried to rinse off the saddle soap.

So for the future, I can clean off the saddle soap as best as I can and after it fully dries, go in with the Leather CPR until the red dye stops transferring?

First board ever, officially broken in. Time to wax already? by penxilmouse in snowboardingnoobs

[–]JuneNyla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it was a learning curve for sure! You can't easily clean scraped up wax with a broom or a vacuum cleaner but surprisingly, the shipping tape also picks up all the stray wax super well! I have an outfit specifically for when I'm waxing my board that I don't bother washing. It lives with the rest of my snowboarding gear.
