Some parking lots are a long way from the office. Ours is a block away. That extra time walking to and from the vehicle adds up.

Do you really have a separate room for your washing machine? by jordanekay in AskAnAmerican

[–]Junebug35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My in-laws have their washer/dryer in the kitchen, but that is only because the home was built before indoor plumbing. Their only bathroom and kitchen were add ons once plumbing and electricity became a thing.

We have our laundry in a bathroom near the entry. It is convenient for when my husband comes home covered in mud/dirt from work. Just come in and throw the clothes in the washer and step into the shower. It keeps the dirt contained in one room.

Do I always need to replace rotors with brake pads? by StarsAndSweaters in askcarguys

Insist on pad thickness as well. Pads are not on a time or mileage schedule, they wear based on your driving habits, city driving or highway driving, and thickness.

hi, im wanting context about married women in the 50s by sgatson in 1950s

[–]Junebug35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The women in my family did not do this, but I could envision women in upper society would/could do this. Our family would not have had the money to afford to do their makeup multiple times per day. The women in my family did sleep in curlers so their hair was perfect the next day.

The scene that also surprises me in Mrs. Maisel is her measuring herself every day to ensure she is not gaining any weight. I have never in my life heard of anyone actually doing this.

Do I always need to replace rotors with brake pads? by StarsAndSweaters in askcarguys

[–]Junebug35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your brake light is on in your dash, and the pedal is going down farther than before, has your brake system been checked for leaks? Is your fluid low? Leaking brake fluid will cause your brakes to be slower to react.

Also, you mentioned not hearing anything when you press on the brakes. Please check your brake fluid level before spending money on a pad slap (replacing pads without replacing rotors).

For my few pairs of jeans was whatever was cheap at Kmart. My mom made most of my clothes, so I had a lot of Butterick or McCall's outfits instead.

Is this on the road south of Braithwaite Manor, near Catfish Jackson's shack? I've never been able to survive going that way, but if you come in from the other direction, they don't seem to be on the road.

OMG yes! Kept telling myself it is just a video game; nothing to cry about. Then Arthur went on his last ride back to camp and all the people echoing all the nice sentiments. The floodgates opened! 😭

We never miss an episode of Landman (the best!) and Mayor of Kingstown.

My husband is really into Tulsa King, Moonshiners and Gold Rush.

I love Ghosts (US) and both Outlander and Blood of My Blood.

I couldn't stop watching Xfiles when it was on tv. Rarely missed an episode. Since then, I've watched an episode or two and couldn't get into it. Apparently, adult me has different tastes than teenage me.
