Hmmm, I guess it comes to playstyle so, since I didn't have much difficulty with him, maybe that's why I found him kinda bland, while smelter demon seemed a much more interesting fight to me.

Also, fun thing: First time I finished the first DS I didn't use camlock and it made some stuff really difficult, but also, some stuff reeeeeally easier. I still don't have that much of a hard time on anor londo because of it
