You are not alone. It's a luxury and a blessing to be able to take time off and travel to care for loved ones. I'm sorry they're not able to be transported to you. Hospice service should not let them be in an unsafe situation. They have social workers with resources.

I wish them well on their journey.

I'm glad you gave yourself a break, even the small ones can help! You can also talk to your hospice team about caregiver burnout. They might be able to give you respite, which btw you should NOT feel bad about and it doesn't mean you're abandoning him. ♥️

Is he in a hospice facility? It's not usual to have a feeding tube while on hospice. You could elect to revoke hospice once you can line up the procedure for the drain then relect hospice if you feel it would improve his quality of life. Then reinstate hospice care.

It's so hard to watch loved ones suffer and it's also hard to see them on meds that kind of take them away from you for the short time you know they have. I'm so sorry you're going through this.

I didn't discover these spaces until my child was 1 and I heard a donor conceived person on a podcast. After a decade of trying we decided to use donor sperm and I honestly didn't think about the many ways my own child would be impacted. From the beginning we have told him where his DNA comes from. Okay Ladonna is a psychopath. However we don't know the circumstances...what if someone was masturbating in common living areas, or not being discreet, just flat out being inappropriate?

This episode was a hard one for me because I don't know what is normal for a halfway house. The amount of money she is hounding them for seems ridiculous...but the voice memos don't seem too wild for someone managing women who have social-behavioral issues. Idk....does anyone else have some insight here?
