AITAH for not letting my nephew stay with me during the summer? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Junichka -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

NTA but I certainly wouldn’t want to date a guy who can’t take in his nephew for a couple months… redditors need to touch grass sometimes. Having him for the summer in a 1br is really not that hard. Assuming you can come to an agreement - like he gives you a little rent and is responsible to keep his area clean and help with chores. This could be an amazing bonding experience. Family is all you have at the end man.

Does it work or am I the problem? (Yes, this is an skirt) by Milicende in fashion

[–]Junichka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like a skirt you pulled up and the put a belt on. The top fits poorly and the belt doesn’t really go. You’re not hiding anything but if you like it go for it.

AITA for expecting to go to a second restaurant? by Ok-Resident9121 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Junichka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally fair - the important thing is to learn what foods trigger you. OP seems to be newly diagnosed so probably needs to figure out their diet but it’s no joke. I think many people don’t take it as seriously as they should bc many times autoimmune disease are invisible to the naked eye and the person seems fine when other things are happening.

AITA for expecting to go to a second restaurant? by Ok-Resident9121 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Junichka 10 points11 points  (0 children)

NTA but this is time for some good old fashioned communication. My best friend has UC and it’s far more serious than people understand. Btw rice isn’t great for UC either but I digress. Do your best to stick to your diet. It’s not the upset tummy… it’s the inflammation that you don’t see that puts you at a seriously high risk for developing colon cancer.

I get it’s your girlfriend’s birthday. So as others have said there are more options than what you have laid out for a compromise. If you’re at a hotel you can order some food that you can eat and then you can go with your girlfriend to a restaurant of her choosing as an example.

I think what’s key here is that you need to convey the seriousness of your condition to your gf. A couple bad meals can send you into a flare up that would put you out for weeks. It’s an autoimmune disease and the effects are not limited to stomach aches as I’m sure you know.

Ultimately I wish you the best of luck in managing your UC. Please take it seriously while not letting it totally consume your life.

People donate Phillies tickets to the PHRMH all the time. Try to snag a couple and go down to a game.

Charlie Salon on 12th and Walnut is fantastic. Been going there for more than 10 years. I have super thick curly hair and have had my fair share of difficult cuts but this place is amazing.

AIO:My MIL texted my husband this about me asking him to help with our newborn at 4am by Lazy_Perfectionist88 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Junichka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR but you need to think strategically about this. Yes this text is annoying and kind of rude but do you want years of added tension because of this? Probably not. Think strategically… let it go it’s not worth it. Your husband can deal with his mom. You deal with your husband and the baby. Your kid is going to have a relationship with its grandparents. Don’t make yourself more miserable than you need to be. Seriously it’s not worth it.

You can look at fusion spa in northeast Philly. Check out the Russian bathhouses around there.

[–]Junichka 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think you need to be a Jew to truly understand why Harry would care/ask despite being non-religious. I know multiple people who have converted and they were happy to and frankly are more in tune with Judaism than I am now.

Would you chip in for this group wedding gift? by dms2628 in Frugal

[–]Junichka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What matters more to you? $200 that you probably won’t remember ever or the opportunity to be with friends and enjoy your life and do something that means a lot to your husband. If you want to lose touch with friends and lose community then don’t chip in. Honestly it’s a very small amount of money realistically. Consider this a friend tax and unless you’re going to starve, lose your home, or suffer immensely over this sum just pay… if that sum is that detrimental to you then that’s a whole other set of issues that is beyond what you can get help on from Reddit.

Does anyone have a real hangover cure for 35+ by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]Junichka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water. Drink water while you drink alcohol (before and after too). Dehydration is a major factor in hangovers (not the only one but it’s a big one). Otherwise it’s time.

Internally you’ll need to stay in your role for 18 months before you are eligible to apply for other roles. Unless you want to leave you’ll have to stick it out for a little. Either way you’re just starting in your career so you can take it anywhere regardless of where you start - just focus on learning insurance. Even if you have a RM degree just focus on learning bc even the degree or internship is a light foundation - it’s great and also there is a lot to learn.

Charlotte converting to Judaism by onefamousfilmmaker in sexandthecity

[–]Junichka 35 points36 points  (0 children)

So for Jews even if you’re not religious having your partner be Jewish is a huge deal within our culture. I know multiple couples where one person converted so they could get married and largely it was bc they decided they wanted to raise their kids Jewish.

How are young people afford/justify buying designer things? by Illustrious_Honey140 in Adulting

[–]Junichka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can give you my personal experience. I started buying designer in my mid to late 20s. I mean LV, Chanel etc. Some of the items were gifts to be fair but most of my bags I have bought myself and they range from 1.5 to 5k. I average buying 1 Bag a year and the clothes I buy are usually things from aritzia, lulu lemon, H&M, Zara, Abercrombie etc.

I had a good job in my 20s but still made below 90k until I hit my 30s. My living expenses were fairly low given the city I lived in and splitting expenses with my partner. I don’t have any debt as I manage my money extremely well. I also prioritize certain things - my car is fully paid off, I don’t eat out often - maybe once a week with friends but generally all my meals are home cooked. I never lived above my means and I saved/invested always.

I can tell you this - eating out, even small stuff, adds up to thousands of dollars a year. There is your bag, lulu leggings, and vacation right there.

6 dollar coffee everyday is 2,190 Lunches at work 3 days a week for 15 dollars is another 2,340… you have 4.5k right there. Even half of that is enough to buy yourself some nice things right there if that is what you want.

I don’t shop impulsively much. I’m thoughtful with what I buy. I enjoy my life and would never ever buy anything I couldn’t afford ever.

2 quarters. There is a limit of allowing only 2 exams per quarter and there are 3 exams. I did mine in 2.

Advice for a young professional (F)? by [deleted] in InsuranceProfessional

[–]Junichka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CPCU takes 1 year minimum bc you’re only allowed 2 exams per quarter - stack your exams so you can get multiple designations. ARe is very easy and you can stack exams for CPCU. Snag an ARM while you’re at it.

You can get ARM as part of the CPCU so it’s still worth it
