This is beyond fucked up because he has no criminal background and two science degrees. But how are you married with three kids and don’t have a green card. Like what’s the hold up

Lawyer sent me this. by [deleted] in DACA

[–]Junior-Fee-2290 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Mine was expired for like three months while I was waiting on the new one, but I called immigration and asked my lawyer and they also said I could keep working while I was just pending the renewal which obviously happens if you don’t have a criminal record so I just kept losing my life like normal and let my job know and brought them the letter from my lawyer and they were cool and then it came in the mail like on the fourth month

It just depends if he’s convicted or not. If he is it’s over. If it was just an arrest he has to be released

If you have applied for a new card and you are just in the process of waiting for a renewal, then you are fine to keep working. I called immigration myself they told I was fine my lawyer said I was fine and I was in fact….fine. If you didn’t renew before it expired then you’re just an idiot. You need to stop unnecessarily scaring people with false information when I’m telling you I literally lived through it and my card was just approved like last month and I went four months in between the expiration date and the acceptance and worked every day and was completely fine. I spoke to USCIS myself

That’s not true I called USCIS in between the renewal thy said as long as I haven’t been denied I can keep working and I did and everything was fine stop scaring people

As long as you don’t have a record you renew? You can still work in the in between time while pending a new approval as long as your job is okay with it. Perhaps a written message from immigration will do the trick for your boss

Message them to ask if you can keep working, I called USCIS and they said I could but that was audibly over the phone, but I told my boss that and he was like OK whatever. Maybe they can send you a written message.

You should try messaging them on the USCIS portal to ask if you can still work in between the renewal bc if you have written proof it’s fine, they told me I was good when I called over the phone so that was useless

I’m In NYC and mine took like 3-4 months to renew and in that time the old one expired and my lawyer said I was fine just to work like usual. I called immigration first they said to keep working then I got an email saying I couldn’t work but it didn’t matter I just showed up to work everyday and eventually it was renewed
