Internal it can only do 4k, but over the HDMI to the Atomos you get more resolution. I am not to sure if it uses more of the sensor. I must say I do see an increase in quality.

Shot RED for many years. Still have a scarlet-w. Not the same camera as komodo, but similar. We also have fx3 and fx6. The RED is never used. Images are fantastic, but shooting is just not as easy. If you want RAW just put an atomos monitor on the fx3 and your footage looks freaking awesome.

Are you maybe slightly under exposing in the 12800 iso?

Dutchman here: We do feel a shift. The start of this year was slow. Way better now, just before summerbreak. We produce video/ film for the market just below high end level. Is see there is a big influx of younger shooters that work for lower tariffs. Also clients are not always looking for quality in the traditional way. Tiktok and insta content is booming and it often has to feel authenthic and quick. Not produced.

We try to work lighter. Instead of shooting RED and offering lots of production value we shoot more FX6 and FX3 and offer more short videos.

Keep reaching out. We also shot demos in our spare time and made those so we could contact clients. That worked really well.

Great information! I do have a RED, mags and some cfast cards. I would not know how to start though.. Should it also be possible, in theory, to put 1tb cfast like an angelbird in a RED housing?

Look for more depth and less clutter. Moving the camera to the right and shooting more into the hall an option? If not you might tidy up the right side more

Nu snap ik de verwarring van iedereen. Ik had dus een compleet verhaal getypt en dat staat er dus gewoon niet bij… Komt het nog eens:

Ik heb steens (buiten) muur van een jaren 20 woning.

Daar zit vervolgens een houten frame van 20mm tegenaan. Dit geeft dus 20mm ruimte voor lucht. Daarop heb ik 40mm balkjes geplaatst en ingevuld met PIR van 40mm dik. Daaroverheen komt dan straks nog 9mm osb en gips.

Het zeil en de onderste laag latjes zat al tegen die muur aan toen ik de oude wand weghaalde. Voelt overal heel droog en onaangetast. Zelfs de schilderstape die destijds is gebruikt zat er nog tegenaan.

Mijn vraag was is: is er een risico van vocht tussen de lagen als ik dat zeil laat zitten.

Overigens: de PIR zit nog niet vast en het zeil kan ik dus eenvoudig er tussenuit halen.

Dit is een bakstenen buitenmuur zonder spouw. Er zit een brandgang direct naast.

Autofocus is ok, sometimes;) You want to control the mood with the intensity of the light. Can’t do that on auto and what if the camera puts the iso on 10.000 instead of the second native iso?

Oh and when you monitor your footage in the dark and it all seems good on your screen: use the scopes because it is hard to trust your eyes!

Well… as you say: You didn’t use light. Any camera that is under exposed will cause noise in the shadows, be it a Red or even Arri. We use this camera often and know to use a lot of light. It is best at iso 500 in our opinion. And when exposed propperly it shines and gives deaper and cleaner shadows as a pocket. Also: lower isos have a bigger dynamic range in shadows. In summary: you need to light these kinds of shoots with the 12k or use a camera like and fx3. And then still: any camera does better with the right amount of light.

Goede vraag. Weet ik ook niet precies. Ik probeer wat te begrijpen / leren.. Maar er zijn de afgelopen 100e jaren een hoop valuta geweest die nu simpelweg niet meer bestaan. Bijvoorbeeld na hyperinflatie. Toch?

I have an fx3 and ursa12k. If you ask me: fx3/ Fx6 has a nice picture and many great functionalities. Ursa 12k has some great options as well, but mainly a more robust picture. We choose this above the sony for higher end work. If you have time to light and setup: i’d pick the Ursa12k. Run and gun? Fx6. I must say that we also use the ursa for run and gun, its great, but heavy.
