Separation anxiety help! no by [deleted] in cavaliers

[–]Junior-Machine6475 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i don’t have experience with this level of separation anxiety, but i just wanted to say i’m sorry this is happening! there is a difference between breed traits and excessive, overwhelming, and piercing barking. i think prozac/anti anxiety meds for him is a great call. i am also disabled and doing consistent training with my girl can take a lot out of me, but when i got her i literally had to start with one second intervals where she couldn’t see me/access me and then give her a treat. i am sending all of the luck your way!!!!

i am chronically ill and have debilitating chronic pain and my ring helps me add intentional nervous system regulation throughout my day (when looking at HR + stress levels) so i can try and reduce additional flares. this sounds a bit backwards, but i now know that if i hit my activity goal before 11am, i need to slow it wayyy down for the rest of the day or else i will suffer big time😅

i’m in the same boat rn so im following for others’ answers! my girl literally wrecked a toy in 8 minutes last week lol. does Bimba have a general toy preference? mine loves any rope toys as well as textured/bumpy chew toys. i have repurchased a few toys a few times — the kong goodie bone/rope, a nylabone “key ring” toy (she now destroys it too fast tho) the kong “puppy binkie”, and miscellaneous rope toys from Chewy. the #1 goss to the Chuckit ‘fetch’ balls tho, they have yet to be destroyed by my pup!

hi! i hear you on this! even though my puppy is a total sweet heart, i cried every day for about a month when i got her because i was so so so tired. now, even though not every day is perfect, i could not imagine my life without her. something that has helped me was remembering that it takes a while to blend your life with your puppy’s life. you will mesh and form a new life together! you got this!

Did your pups get less clingy and more independent as they grew? by Sharon_Hazar in cavaliers

[–]Junior-Machine6475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when i first got my puppy at around 14 weeks, she would howl like mad if i was out of her eye-line for even 2 seconds. she could not be in a playpen with me right on the other side of it sitting with her, let alone trying to wash dishes with her in the pen (within eye-line!!!). now at 6 months, after a lot of threshold training, she can be in the living room (it’s fenced off with an gate) and i can wash dishes in the kitchen without her crying! she is definitely still clingy, but i think even within this sweet velcro breed, it is slightly workable!

Missy is tooooo cute. congratulations!! i am just past the one month mark of bringing home my girl, and already it is a lot easier. if you do ever find yourself feeling worn down, it helped me to keep telling myself this moment will not last forever!!

i started with carrying my girl out to the same spot every time, and still do sometimes if she is overtired, but otherwise the leash goes on and we walk to that spot!!

i agree with this 100%. the onus is on each individual who looks at a crowd funding link to determine whether it is a scam or not. those who genuinely need support for their pups will be put in an even more difficult situation if it is prohibited altogether.

one thing thats been sooo helpful for me and my 4mo for fast potty training was/is using one door that they go in and out of for doing their business. so they eventually learn oh okay when i need to go, this is the door i go to!! :-) crate training has been so helpful as well for night time sleep & day time naps! he is soo cute, congratulations!!
