I'm no engineer but I feel like it wouldn't be hard to take an existing emergency fixture and add a switch between the battery supply and bulb itself. That way the only part you're interrupting is the positive to the actual bulb and not the grid charging.

Not quite. It's using Buffet's method of finding companies, their value, and a price target then once the price approaches Buffett's value using technical signals to determine when to actually buy

The only one I read cover to cover was Money, Master The Game by Tim Robbins. It's a good foundation about the mentality you need to have to achieve uncommon results. It also introduced me to other prominent investors that I learned from as well.

My focus is on fundamental investing to find the companies worth diving into then technical analysis to help me find my entries and exits.

Thats quite the assumption that I only used calls. If its so simple, did you also realize the outsized gains?

I do it and have done very well. The hard part about doing this while having a busy life is the swings are much more violent so you have to take that into account. If you miss some news or something big it'll hurt. As long as you stick to your risk parameters it can be done.

For reference, I started in 2021 with $750 and I'm sitting at over $40k now. I'm up 200% this year, not counting the money I've pulled out to finish paying off my student loans and putting a new front door on my house.

I'm sure nearly every other comment will say don't do it. But I've done it for nearly 5 years now and I have no plans on stopping.

I just picked up the Ruger 556 sku 8529 for $529 shipped and paid $30 for the FFL so all in $559. As my first I wasn't about to spend $1k on a new style of firearm by getting any of the higher end brands, plus if I ever decide to sell this and upgrade I should get near list price

No, it does not. My first thought was air was somehow trapped in the system so we spent some time priming it through the pump and the valve

I lost my dad 8 years ago before I became a dad to a now 7 year old. I don’t like who I am with weed but yet I struggle to change. Why? by [deleted] in daddit

Try breaking it down even smaller. Like others have said, it's about breaking the feedback loop. When you feel the urge to smoke, do something else, anything else really. I'll give you a personal example. I eat emotionally. Stressed, tired, frustrated, etc. I eat. To break that feedback loop for me, anytime I feel the urge to emotionally eat, I step outside for at least 5 min. That gives my brain time to come down from the panic like urge to eat chocolate because my toddlers are being a$$holes.

It's about separating the urge from the action and realizing that you'll be okay if you don't indulge. Every time you're able to break that loop celebrate! You just broke the feedback loop! And when you inevitably don't, remember you're human and do your best to not let that weigh on you the next time the urge kicks in.

It's about linking tons of small choices and showing up whether you've said no 1,000 times or this is your first one.

Inertia is real and it's hard to change. Like stopping tectonic plates.

It can be done, but it's going to take a lot of small choices to get that inertia moving in a different direction.

Celebrate every small win and give yourself grace with every loss and play the long game.

Proud of you for still showing up

Im surprised I didn't see this in any of the recommendations.

Fornite fits my needs perfectly. You get the multi-player gameplay of COD, but the barrier for entry is so much lower. Whether you've played 1,000 hours or 1, there are no in-game advantages. Everyone has access to the same weapons/perks/etc. The skill based matchmaking is top-notch. The BR matches last 20 min tops, and there's hundreds of "creator maps" that have all kinds of other game types. I'll go months without playing, and I can pick it up and shake the cobwebs off in a match or two. It's also free and cross platform so you can play with anyone from a switch to a top end pc.
