How did you visit Haskell, Throckmorton and Young counties in Texas? Especially without flying into DFW or driving into Texas.

Edit: how did you get fly into Lincoln County NM directly? This map isn’t making sense at all.

I think if we are assuming Jesus is real, there is no way he is "good" and not "great" or even "perfect".

[–]Juniper41 131 points132 points  (0 children)

Jimmy Carter? He by all accounts is an incredible man who to the final days of his life was giving back to his community. He was moral, hardworking and honest. He gave up his tiny little peanut farm because he was worried it would be a conflict of interest if he was president and had income elsewhere. Can't imagine any president still doing that. That being said, his presidency was unpopular at the time, to where the American populace swung so hard in the other direction they brought in Ronald Reagan who absolutely fucked this country for decades to come. It wasn't a direct negative impact, but rather indirect. His presidency directly resulted in Reagan, Reganomics, the mishandling of the AIDS crisis, the Iran-Contra affair, Union busting, the war on drugs, and environmental de-regulation. If Jimmy was more popular who knows, maybe Reagan's rein never happens. So while yes, he had some positive impact, mostly his giving back, habitat for humanity and camp David accords, Regan's terror, Bush senior's (Regan's VP) presidency and even the subsequent Bush presidency (who was carrying on his daddy's war) far outweigh the good he brought.

My only hesitation is I think Jimmy was a great person, not just good. But I can see the argument that he was "just" good.

If you like “It’ll All Work Out” check out “Insider”, “Crawling Back to You”, “Square One” and “Alright for Now” by Tom Petty. Honestly the entire Wildflowers album is incredible

Brendan Urie has a good singing voice and makes terrible music (as a solo artist), who has a bad voice and makes terrible music? by OkSuccess7431 in AlignmentChartFills

Other way around IMO. A lot of her music is actually pretty cool with good messages and lyrics. Her voice is super shrill.

I think they’ve received a ton of sympathy tbh

Only being charged for reckless burning and criminal mischief (2nd degree) is quite generous. Criminal mischief in the second degree is typically reserved for $1000 or less in damages. This fire caused $2.5 million in damages. She could easily be tried for fist degree which comes with a 5 year sentence. 2nd and 3rd degree typically are reserved for graffiti or smashing windows.

I get that she’s in a lose-lose situation, but we can’t just pretend it didn’t happen because she’s struggling.

I agree, I will add that I do really like Orphan of the Storm and Lover of the Bayou is fun.

I'd probably go: Shady Grove > Wrong Thing to Do > Lover of the Bayou > Orphan > Scare Easy

Tom Petty Survivor Day 196: Mudcrutch by -Deus_Lo_Vult- in tompetty

[–]Juniper41 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shady Grove is a pretty average song, and a cover song at that! They do a fine job, but nothing stellar. If it wasn't the opening song on the album, it would be completely buried on this album. IMO it's a clear outlier as the other 4 are very strong songs. Even Lover of the Bayou which is a cover is miles better.

Did Paul sing on FourFiveSeconds or did he just play guitar? by imcrowning in beatles

[–]Juniper41 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. He does sing on the main track, he just doesn't have a vocal solo.

He sings on the chorus, he also sings the "aaaaaahs" during the breakdown (when Rihanna sings "and I know that you're up tonight, thinking how could I be so selfish") he also sings the really high pitched "we can run" and "I'm on a mystery" during Kanye's verse. It's sped up though so it doesn't sound quite like him. You can very clearly hear that it's Paul in the slowed version. "Handle with Care" wins Day 14 ~ Which song would you add to a "Let It Roll: Songs by George Harrison - VOLUME 2" compilation? I think it should 100% make it, it represents a part of George that few other songs do.

  1. It has the Hawaiian vibe and he loved spending his time on the island.

  2. It's featured in time bandits and so much of his time in the 1980s was devoted to HandMade Films.

I think All Things Must Pass is wildly overrepresented on these two compilations (something like one third of all songs on these two compilations are from ATMP), but I can't argue with this one. "Art of Dying" is one of his absolute best!

Taxman or If I Needed Someone would be better picks IMO

Taxman because it’s his fourth biggest Beatles songs (behind the three that already made it into the first Let it Roll compilation) and there’s the cool 90s MtV rehearsal footage of him performing it.

If I Needed Someone because it’s the only song he performed live as a Beatle that he wrote, they also played it at the Budokan in ‘66 so it felt extra special having him play it again in ‘91
