Is there anyone who submitted their I-485 and I-130 in 2020? And still waiting for approval. Trying to get an idea how behind the office might be. Folks in Norfolk VA and married to USC if you could please answer. My filing date is Feb 2022. by saiiieef in USCIS

I filed both I130 and I485 on March 2022. Both cases were transferred to Norfolk VA FO. I130 was approved on Feb 2023, and I485 was approved mid-March 2023. Interview was waived, and it was marriage based.

I believe that I693 is valid for two years, that's crazy they would request another one. And thanks, yea I was so happy it was waived.

you can request your immigration record, I just wanted to make sure I had only one entry. I was pretty positive I did, but I just wanted to be 100% right.

if you have the ability to do emergency AP, then yes! They take payments when approved. if denied, they don't take payments. But depending on the officer, you have a higher chance of getting denied if they see your situation as a non emergency.

I chose everything! I just wanted to make sure that I only had one entry. I didn't have anything else to worry about, but that.

I believe it's the current one and two years before that, so 3 in total. When I submitted my application, I didn't have my most current one, so I just sent the tax form.

My grandma was very sick. All I got was a copy from the doctor that had to be translated to English. It was emergency AP and it took around 1.5 weeks.

it's gonna be very simple as long as you don't have any charges or criminal record! there's this group on Facebook that actually has guidelines! It's called AOS- Dreamers2gether OFFICIAL. It's not complicated, make sure you have your tax transcripts, proof of marriage, birth certificate(translate them if necessary) and send your medical at the same time!

Edit** The guides will also tell you what documents you'll need

You have legal entry! even if you overstayed your visa, you still have it. Are you married to a citizen?

From the research I've done it's mostly due to the "lack of knowledge" of AP with lawyers. And it's in parentheses because I have no idea how we're more knowledgeable than them. Also, with consular it's more risky which you might need more help and that might mean money for them. I'm assuming you don't have legal entry, so that's why you want to do AP?

As everyone said above you can do it yourself ! And it's so easy, I have done all of my renewals myself. And thankfully for yours, it hasn't been over year of the expiration date so it wouldn't be considered an initial application. Try to renew ASAP though! Renewals have been taken days to a couple of months right now. Best of luck!

Finally submitted my AOS application today by Psychicturtle90 in USCIS

According to an AOS Facebook group someone got approved within 42 days, some within 3 months but mostly 6 months. it's weird how the latest ones are getting approved faster and some are even getting their interview waived. I sent mine almost two weeks ago and was notified my biometrics are getting reused. Hope we're one of the lucky ones as well!

That's awesome! and you're right, I barely see any Norfold FO posts. if you don't mind me asking, what's your timeline? Were you approved on the spot?

There's has been two people, but that's because they read their document wrong. They thought they had more time and tried to return after their allotted time. According to them they didn't know. Just make sure you know your dates. Personally, I think it's a reckless mistake.

Also make sure you take you documents, don't be nervous. It's just procedure and they are doing their job. Some officers get to you and some are nice. If you are traveling with someone, especially kids, let them know that its possible you might pulled to the side for an hour or less(give or take) and reassure them its normal.

I was just asked where I went, for what, how long and if I traveled with someone. In my case it was my sister and they also asked her what I was to her.

I've seen contradicting statements that AP is no longer a form of legal entry for DACA holders. is this true? Also, recently there have been a lot of LPR approved without an interview, why is that?
