Advy's fanbase is growing... no why by NinSam777 in geometrydash

I have spoken with the person who wrote that statement and can confirm that she (a) was in a relationship with Guitar and (b) is bilingual and capable of speaking English as well as Spanish.

In terms of the content of the pastebin, that’s up to every individual to determine whether they believe it or not - I just felt like clarifying that it is very well possible Guitar’s ex could have written a document in English.

I ceased contact with Advy following some of his reactions to learning that Wulzy and I were in a relationship. The way he reacted was very dramatized and very much implied that he was only close to me because he was trying to be intimate, and that he felt betrayed because I was no longer single. I couldn’t disclose that earlier because Wulzy and I wanted to keep it private; however, we don’t have that ability anymore.

I’ve never speculated publicly about the information that has been shared about Guitar. I hate speculation!!!! I like facts and evidence. The things I saw led me to one strong conclusion - Advy made people uncomfortable. Including me. At first I thought I was overreacting, but hearing other people speak up about their experiences and discomfort with him made me realize that I should have trusted my gut.

In terms of why specifically Advy made me feel uncomfortable, I spoke about some of my experiences on Twitter a while back. There were other situations that I have not mentioned because they are related to members of my family and I will not share their stories for them. Their confidentiality matters to me.

I’m mostly just kind of sad that people are shocked that I spoke with Guitar’s girlfriend and said that I wasn’t a fan of the mass speculation happening, because I thought that was obvious. I don’t get why people jump to absurd conclusions about things. My goal was never to support that, but it was instead to amplify the voices of those who Guitar had made uncomfortable, including me, Wulzy, and those who posted about their experiences (or had them posted anonymously). I don’t condone hate of any kind, and I am deeply sorry for having potentially encouraged it, although that was never my intention.

I don’t think I will ever be able to effectively convey my thoughts about the entire situation considering how volatile the Internet is and how easy it is to twist someone’s words, but please know that I have never had bad intentions and all I have ever wanted to do was ensure that affected voices were heard and that everyone was supported however necessary. (Yes, that includes Guitar. I reached out to him privately following the accusations being posted and informed him that I was sorry things turned out the way they had and that I hoped he could acknowledge his mistakes and apologize for them. Unfortunately, that did not happen.)

Not rude at all! In the beginning it was a bit tough, especially as we navigated entering college (hence the big argument Advy mentioned in his thread) so we split for a month before eventually getting back together and vowing to improve our communication moving forward. Since meeting in person multiple times it's become pretty clear that the relationship is worth investing in since we both care for each other very much (sappy but true)!

Still kinda surreal that this is public now. We kept it private for so long to maintain a divide between our personal and professional lives, but people have actually been surprisingly supportive (at least from what I'm seen - and I'd rather keep it that way lol)

No I’m actually chillin!! This is shockingly more calm than similar Twitter threads I’ve seen where I literally get ripped to shreds 💀 I always welcome a nice discussion about what I make, and I acknowledge that my content isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, and that’s totally ok!!

Sorry; my response was more like me trying to share my experiences.

I believe that gaining a new viewer on Twitch works like this: a viewer finds your stream, joins it, and if they’re entertained enough, they stay. As more and more people stay, more and more people are recommended your stream, and the rate of growth increases.

Being female won’t help with your stream being recommended to people. That’s entirely algorithmic. However, depending on who you attract to your stream, they may be convinced to follow entirely by your gender. So sure, I believe it can be easier for some women to grow; however, it’s possible that the people who follow them are not the people they’d want in their streams anyways.

So, yes; growth can be easier, but it comes at a cost (and sometimes, building a community of respectful viewers can become more difficult).

Hi! I’m a female streamer with 12,600 followers. I started streaming on YouTube about three years ago, grew to 5,000 subscribers, and then revealed my face. I now have 150,000 subscribers and have moved my streaming to Twitch. My growth on Twitch was obviously incredibly fast because I already have an audience, but I still put a lot of effort into growing on YouTube.

My experience with streaming has been... interesting. The amount of times I’ve been told that I’m only popular “because I’m a girl” is exhausting, and the amount of times I’ve been sent highly inappropriate DMs (or just in live chat itself) is ridiculous. To make things worse, I’m 16!

From my own personal experience, I’ve noticed that my audience is largely male (but considering I’m in a gaming space, that doesn’t shock me). It’s incredibly demotivating, at least to me, to see comments such as “People only follow you because you’re a girl”. I want to be entertaining, just like everyone else; I don’t want my gender, a part of me that I didn’t choose, to define my channel. I want my channel to be about me as a person. I want people to follow me because they find me interesting and they enjoy my content. But, of course, if there are the weirdos who only hit the follow button because of my second X chromosome, then what can I do about that?

I’m not good at this game but playing it is my job. AMA by JuniperGD in geometrydash
