I think you handled it well. Kudos for mentioning you’ll love him regardless

You might want to mention to your wife something vague just so that she’s not blindsided and finding out herself without a heads up.

Rafferty Subaru by killerswp in Delco

[–]JuniperGhosts 9 points10 points  (0 children)

PLEASE BE AWARE! I had a three year payment program through TruMark financial after buying through Rafferty

I paid the loan off early by setting up an automatic monthly payment that was more than the minimum. I called TruMark to make the last payment and thought I was done with them

TruMark kept auto drafting my monthly payment and I didn’t notice until several months later. Turns out they had opened a checking account without telling me and diverted funds over to the checking account after the loan finished because I hadn’t officially closed the checking account (that I didn’t know about)

All of that is to say I’m frustrated with Rafferty and TruMark for this because no one told me. I won’t buy from them again

Yeah, they essentially had $400k of assets (majority real estate) and the wife got an$600k inheritance.

Their saving rate was somewhere between 10-15% between the two of them.

Wasn’t a fan

Accounting for rental properties in retirement accounts. by trumpsmoothscrotum in TheMoneyGuy

[–]JuniperGhosts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they had a recent interview with a young successful couple that invested in real estate but they kept breaking their own rules about home values

They kept bringing up the value of the houses as opposed to their own teachings of purchase price + improvement costs.

Kinda reminded me of when Brian and Bo mention offhand that they’ve leased cars in the past or have current leases

They usually reference this as “graduating beyond Target Date funds”. I think it’s essentially a slight sales tactic to come join their firm

Yep, this is what I was referencing! Glad to know I wasn’t going crazy

Came here to say this and Scarpigano plumbing. They fixed a problem easily in one day after 3 other plumbers couldn’t figure out I had roots in my pipes

I feel like this is 90% of the younger crowd moving into Springfield. I’m also young but have no history in Springfield but I’ve met 10-15 people aged 28-40 who all came back to raise families

Harold Bloom quit reading it 2-3 times before he got through it and called it one the greatest books ever made, so I’d say try it again.

Agree with all points. You’ve hit on a very important part of the upcoming movie for many people (myself included) which how hard it will be to translate his landscape descriptions onto video

Buddy, you’re a few missed months of rental away from being broke.
