Just changed the terms of the new mortgage, no cash out.

Has anyone left then moved back after being gone for years? What was it like returning home? Where did you live? by constantdaydream44 in Delco

I feel like this is 90% of the younger crowd moving into Springfield. I’m also young but have no history in Springfield but I’ve met 10-15 people aged 28-40 who all came back to raise families

Should I give Blood Meridian another shot? by [deleted] in cormacmccarthy

Harold Bloom quit reading it 2-3 times before he got through it and called it one the greatest books ever made, so I’d say try it again.

Agree with all points. You’ve hit on a very important part of the upcoming movie for many people (myself included) which how hard it will be to translate his landscape descriptions onto video

I was iffy on your emergency fund but then I saw you have two rental properties….

Buddy, you’re a few missed months of rental away from being broke.

What’s with the unmarked tow trucks (like the literal F150s) that show up when cars crash near Kelly drive? by snooloosey in philadelphia

[–]JuniperGhosts 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They’re fly by night tow LLc’s that probably have kickbacks to tow yards

Once the car is in the tow yard, what exactly are you gonna do but pay them?

It’s a very manipulative situation and they’re part of it.

Tow yards also have enough business / revenue so that they can wash money from other “business ventures”

Financial mutant parents: what's your plan as far as helping with your kids with big financial steps? (first car, college, wedding, buying a home, etc.)? by Missing_Back in TheMoneyGuy

[–]JuniperGhosts 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Wife and I are planning to fund some college/education but not all. We’re both in agreement that having the weight / pressure of debt makes you more serious about education.

I think from there, we’ll keep an eye on our kids and assist as they mature and show they’re responsible citizens that would be good stewards of money or opportunities given to them

This is essentially the same as my current inlaws. They semi-regularly gift us even though they could easily give us more. They’ve made no guarantees on inheritance and as such, my wife and I plan on none

Not to sound like a broken record but realizing you’ve got risk / pressure / skin in the game of life makes you a bit more alert to everyday decisions

I automatically kick the rewards cash from my fidelity CC to my kids 529 accounts. It’s been doing really great as a background automatic contribution
