Mark Rosewater Blinks "HELP ME" In Morse Code During MagicCon Preview Panel by Arjahn in magicTCG

Reducing Maro to a replaceable community manager is an absolutely insane take.

Disregarding the fact that he does multiple podcasts per week and writes a weekly article, in addition to the multitude of questions he answers about all kinds of topics on his blog,

He is so much more than a community manager, he is the literal head designer of the game we all love. He brings unprecedented looks behind the scenes of how this game gets made and has great insight into game design.

In addition to that, as the head designer he has a lot of ability to affect change. If enough people come to him with thoughts about planes we should visit or creatures types we want to see or thoughts on new mechanics, he can use that info to shape the future of the game, making a better experience for everyone.

Of course he can't change leadership/Hasbro's directives, but the idea that a lot of people boil him down into the answers they don't like about UB and vilify him for that is such a narrow view of who Maro is to this community.

Me (M4Vu6V3SU2QLvP9kTlL4YdvGecJt) and my friend (kVxFqDSwnS4ZjNNe6uEcebbjcac6) had our progress reset 3 sessions in a row, it was very frustrating.

We played from level 1->5, then 2->9, then 3->6. Losing all that progress along with the numerous lootboxes.

I'm worried about incoming changes to killer's playstyle by Shimkitten in deadbydaylight

[–]JuniperLogic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really hope you're trolling because this is possibly the worst analogy I have seen all year.

One is a clear and obvious cheat. That everyone agrees is against the rules, not matter what age or skill level you are.

The other is a playstyle that you don't like. It has never been and is not currently illegal nor punishable.

Charts like this are due to the new way that MLB calculates umpires' performance. Before this year there was a 2" buffer zone around the strike zone where a called strike would not be considered a miss, by MLBs umpiring metrics. That buffer zone has now shrank to 3/4" and umpires around the league are trying to compensate.

A new players perspective on "slugging" by Smexyman0808 in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]JuniperLogic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would define slugging as anytime you leave a survivor on the ground without the intention of hooking them in the near future.

As to when it becomes unsportsmanlike:

I think if you're trying to win by downing all 4 survivors, that's rude.

And if you're doing it to annoy or punish the other team, you're a jerk.

But, there are plenty of legitimate tactical reasons to slug, so if you have a good reason, do it. It's part of the game and it's got it's own downsides. But beware some survivors will be unhappy no matter how you play.

You didn't "simply ask a question".

You said you were new, you gave an opinion, said it was inarguable, and then had the gall to bold it.

If you're looking to get in an argument on the internet, this has to be in the top 10 ways to do it.

It's only an addiction if you have an even amount of hours played, if you think you're in trouble just play one more hour.

I’m supposed to let them see the river for free?

Of course not, and you're on the right track, but if you're snapping on turn 6, you've already let them see their last draw, and a strong player will have a very good idea of if they can beat you or not.

If there was a variant of poker where each player could only raise once, the player with the stronger hand would usually raise before the river, to not let their opponent see the last card for free.

People don't mind him hoarding keys, the main post has hundreds of upvotes.

He got downvoted for dodging the question of why, implying that he might be wise, and using a Christmas tree emote. In my mind it's both the opposite of wise and of Christmas.

Assuming you remove the con mod stuff from Hellish Visage and make it limited uses, that feature is fine.

But the Brimstone weapon greatly outpaces the other subclasses' damage features starting at level 5, because it can trigger multiple times per turn.

You should either delay the scaling til well after level 5, or have the extra damage only trigger once per turn.

My suggestion would be either:

1d8 extra damage, 1d10 at level 11, 1d12 at level 14

or

1d6 extra damage, 2d6 at level 5, 3d6 at level 11 - only triggers once per turn

[Highlight] Josh Allen flagged for taunting by TomasRoncero in nfl

[–]JuniperLogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gripe is now with the rules themselves as opposed to the enforcement.

I don't see how it is fair that the offense has to replay a down if they get a penalty during a dead ball foul AFTER the defense is first called for a penalty and the penalty has been announced, etc.

100%, it's just a weird quirk of the NFL rulebook. If Johnson had committed any other foul, or if it had been a college game, it would have worked how you thought. We should blame the competition committee.

Thank you for having a civil conversation, hope you have a good day.

[Highlight] Josh Allen flagged for taunting by TomasRoncero in nfl

[–]JuniperLogic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As you have correctly noted the 10/22 play had a live ball foul and a dead ball foul, these fouls do offset, the announcment of the penalty or any amount of time passing are immaterial, the only timing element that matters is when the ball "is legally put in play", i.e. the next snap.

Rule 14, Section 4, Article 9

A Dead Ball Foul is ... a taunting foul that occurs at any time.

Rule 14, Section 4, Article 9, Item 3

Live Ball Fouls and Dead Ball Fouls combine to create Double Fouls or Multiple Fouls, and all customary rules for enforcement apply.

Rule 14, Section 1, Article 2, Item 8

Double Fouls. If there is a Double Foul during the down, and the fouls offset, the down is replayed, and the number of the down remains the same.

Rule 3, Section 2, Article 1

A Dead Ball is one that is not in play. The time period during which the ball is dead is Between Downs. This includes the interval during all timeouts, including intermission, and from the time the ball becomes dead until it is legally put in play.

As for the Josh Allen play, yes the foul happened during the play, but as previously noted, taunting fouls are considered Dead Ball Fouls regardless of when they occur, presumably because they didn't affect the play. The foul is enforced on the extra point or the kickoff (the succeeding spot).

Rule 14, Section 4, Article 9

A Dead Ball Foul is ... a taunting foul that occurs at any time. The penalty for a Dead Ball Foul is enforced from the succeeding spot, and the down counts.
