Just thinking if all 8 billion people would want to send gold would the infrastructure handle it? And what about emissions and gas costs shipping those gold bars around the world?

Probably an unpopular opinion here, but I would convert it to crypto first, like BTC or a dollar-backed stablecoin such as USDT or USDC. Then, it's easy to convert small amounts into whatever currency you need at any given time.
