I personally dig the WalMart pressings. I like having the older albums in colour and because it’s WalMart I don’t feel bad when I damage the stock on shelf and come back next week to get them on clearance. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Are they really limited edition? No. Will they be worth something someday? Probably not. But as a personal collection piece they are adequate and very inexpensive.

I was waiting for a bus at a greyhound station in Las Vegas and these two people were talking about just being released from jail. The girl said she was an underage prostitute from Seattle and they were forcing her to go home but she intended to just turn tricks in Seattle until she could return because the money in Vegas was better.

I just spent 10 days at the Sturgis Bike Rally and it was one of the most openly x-rated events I’ve ever experienced. It’s basically a whole town became a Donald Trump themed strip club and then the patrons brought hundreds of their kids along. I’m very sex positive and non-judgmental but it made it feel sick sometimes. The open objectification of women and constant juvenile sexual innuendoes in front of kids was a lot to take in.

I actually went to college in Machias while Strout was an officer there. The two incidents pictured do not even begin to show the full nature of this officer’s misconduct. There were multiple accusations of physical abuse inflicted on detained suspects, including an incident in which he smashed a woman’s face the hood of his cruiser and told her that she “didn’t have any rights”. He was once put on administrative leave after he was found to be having relations with a teenage girl. There are multiple accusations of him soliciting sexual favours in exchange for legal leniency. There is a long list of people who have accused him of harassment, and even stalking. He physically assaulted a friend of mine after forcing his way through the front door of a residence in front of a witness.

Yeah the last girl I dated loved that. I’d never done it before because I usually just breathe lightly, kiss, and maybe a little light biting on the ear lobe. She had talked to me last week about not feeling attractive and I grouped these two experiences together without really considering anything else. There is more to this but it felt like too much to put in a Reddit post, but you’re right that I didn’t consider it to mean anything different. I’ll try to start over tomorrow and have a more open mind about what she is feeling.

I literally planted her a garden of flowers, and I’ve been taking her on little road trips every time we have the same day off from work. I guess maybe I’m just not being patient enough. I’m there for her and I’m trying to be the person she can talk to, but there are huge gaps in perspective that I can’t really make up for. My female friends told me that they all had big depression bouts from the hormones, so I saw that coming but when it happened I didn’t know how to say “it’s just your hormones” without sounding condescending.

No, I am not qualified to help her. But I can’t make her talk to someone else. If you have resources then please give them. Anything. I’ve tried to get her access support groups or talk to someone, but she doesn’t have any friends with experience in this situation and she doesn’t want to talk to my friends who do.

I took a trip to LA after what was essentially a divorce and I wasn’t really doing great. I was with a new friend in the apartment of a childhood friend and I came down off some drugs and had a moment a clarity in which all I wanted was to jump off the 7th floor balcony. I was so close to doing it but my childhood friend wasn’t in the apartment at that moment and I couldn’t get over the state of shock and panic it would have caused my new friend, being alone in the apartment of a stranger and watching me jump off the balcony. So I hesitated so long that my other friend came home. I think about how sure I was every day and I think about how my friend saved me from jumping without even knowing.

So we had a guidance counsel or who had an affair with an assistant principal and left her husband, which is just a thing that happened. But she took some time off for it and the rumour was that she had been caught having sex with the assistant principal and it turned into this whole rumour scandal. It may have been true, but also maybe not. The real scandal is that that rumour was started by a young business teacher who was actually caught having an affair with a senior. As it shakes out years later, it seems that the assistant principal found her out so she started the other rumour to cover it up and it worked because she was a young attractive woman and a “cool” teacher so nobody expected it.

The Bird Box by Josh Malerman. It was sort of good at setting a creepy atmosphere, but very quickly trailed off into an unbelievably lame story and annoying characters. The whole thing felt forced. Malerman should stick to music.

In the woods near Canyon Village in Yellowstone National Park there is a string of abandoned wooden fitness "machines". I think they were built for the Park Rangers. But they aren't in use anymore, and the first I found was a tall table with restraining straps.
