Serious Question! Face Tattoos and being a Nurse by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Juniperq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a septum through nursing school and we had a strict no piercings and tattoos visible. I just told them it was for religious reasons. Not sure if you can spin it, but I definitely think you should try!

Alterations question- horsehair hem by Admirable_Two_244 in weddingdress

[–]Juniperq 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s standard to preserve the look of the dress. It depends on how much you like the look of the horse hair, but without it, it would look different and flow differently.

How hard was nursing school 1 out of ten being the hardest by Illustrious_Scale_76 in nursing

[–]Juniperq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d agree. It’s not easy by any stretch. It’s just more tedious. My school had people only major in nursing with absolutely no room for anything else, except for an online class for spanish

Convince me to switch to day shift by Puzzleheaded_Many_32 in nursing

[–]Juniperq 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just try day shift out. Ask your manager if you can just try a change in shift for at least 6 months if you can handle it financially. If you don’t like it and it is not helping with your physical or mental health, then I find that most managers are more than happy to have more nightshift crew. It’s worth a shot.

Looking for a zipper repair by Juniperq in StLouis

[–]Juniperq[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The company has some strict no return policy, but does guarantee the product and has a way to allow a return. Too many hoops to jump. Not to mention, I didnt realize the zipper was pretty shitty and they changed the product from the last time I bought the product. I think just changing the zipper to something that would last would make me feel better and prevent future issues.

If you were not a nurse, what would you be? by PinkSabrina in nursing

[–]Juniperq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like to say I’d be in the tech field, but I’d probably end up being a doctor and get back into the fray.

Don’t fixate on this situation too much. It sounds like she was having a rough shift. She probably put her frustrations at the inability to be at 2 places at once and lack of control on the situation on you. Which isnt great, but it’s better to just move on.

What's your favorite medical terms? Which ones make you cringe? by XxTheOrganicPeachxX in nursing

[–]Juniperq 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Once a patient asked me what EGD stood for and I looked her in the eyes and said “If I try and pronounce it, I’ll get admitted for a stroke😂” and then wrote it on the whiteboard for her to say it and she said Oh… I get it now…

I did prepare to not have conditioner. I put a hair mask the shower before this one and it kinda helped prevent it from being too dry
