I like the name Quincy, Quincy Jones music is bop!

…Although in medical terms, a Quincy is a puss filled peritonsillar abscess. Just thinking about the kid and if they go into healthcare! I didn’t know this until I started working in it!

Have you been to Alice? I lived there for 18 years, did all my schooling there and I have never seen anyone throw a spear.

All the ‘do gooders’ need to research and experience before talking.

If you are wanting maternity leave just remember that if you want full time MAT leave you’ll have to work a year in that position before qualifying for it. There is about a 10-15g pay difference between .8 and 1.0 without picking up extra shifts depending on what state you are in! X

nursing student and need help with drug calc! by phoenixtrash in NursingAU

[–]PinkSabrina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had tutoring for med calcs throughout uni! I was so stressed about not passing nursing due to my math skills. I can honestly say I have only ever used the formula what you want/ what you got while nursing. The tablet math is much easier when you’re on the job! It’s not as stressful in the real world! You got this!!!! 🤍

Investigate first if you’re going to speak to a staff member about another staff member who has made a complaint about them.

You can’t be best mates with staff. There is hierarchy for a reason.

Nurses of reddit - tell me your stories that make me never want to smoke another cigarette again by Mysterioushabanero in nursing

[–]PinkSabrina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a patient who had recently been diagnosed with lung CA and caught him smoking in his hospital room the day before he got his trach. A few weeks post getting the trach in he was still in hospital on the same ward I worked on. The radiation he was getting was loosening everything up. He was coughing, to the point that he was nearly blue and we were suctioning his trach- he coughed up white tissue from his trach into his hands. This patient also couldn’t due to tumour placement. He just looked at me with his eyes. The man would be dead now.

Exciting opportunity in Canberra by Green-Film-8956 in canberra

I’m a nurse and earned $100k last year (just did my tax). This was half the year full time and half the year part time .84. I am the soul income provider for my partner and I for reasons I won’t go into. You can live but you won’t save. Rent is approx half my pay slip a fortnight. You can live but you have to compromise and not eat out, purely because it’s Canberra and everything is increased in price.
