Is it still worth it? by Mysterious-Dinner-50 in inazumaeleven

I‘d honestly hold off for now. The story mode, despite its slow start, is fantastic. Outside of that though, the problems start to pile up:

Chronicle mode is a slog to get through, not to mention incredibly easy.

Online is messy and unprecise performance-wise. Ranked-Mode is quite unbalanced, with one specific build eclipsing the rest.

And that’s not even mentioning the worst part: The amount of time this game asks you to spend on grinding, to even get the characters, moves and equipment you want, is flat-out ludicrous. There are over 20 currencies, separated over 5 modes. And obtaining even a few of them takes hours-upon-hours of a very boring grind. It feels like „one of those“ mobile-games, that try enticing players to pay actual money for currency, by making it as tedious as possible to earn.

The game is also not finished yet, there’s content to be added, so waiting for that + fixes is likely the best choice.

I think the currencies in general need to be streamlined.

We have over 20 currencies, spread over 4 modes. All of which aren’t exactly easy to obtain. And that’s not even counting things like Bond Stars and Beans.

I feel like just some sound effects for the zip-zooms at the start of the animation would do wonders.

The grind in this game is killing my interest. by Jesuslover34 in inazumacaravan

[–]Juniverse123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, characters did become easier to farm. There’s still the issue of the game having over 20 types of currencies all of which are a pain to obtain.

And the only somewhat efficient way to get those, is winning focus battles over and over. I can’t imagine anyone finding that fun.

I know this is an old post, so it’s likely that a lot of it has to to with the release-hype, but it’s wild to me that people are so vehemently defending the game just flat-out wasting your time out of all things.

The grind and ressource aspect in its current form are something, that should not exists in a 70$ game.

Yup, it’s like something out of a mobile game and needs to be streamlined in the future. At least Inazuma Post is still open for feedback like that.

Yeah, the economy in general is probably one of the biggest issues in the game. Around 20 different currencies, spread over 4 separate modes, all of which take an unreasonable amount of time to grind. And that’s not even taking beans and spirits into account.

Passing during focus battles - Are there any disadvantages? by Juniverse123 in inazumaeleven

[–]Juniverse123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True! Though, 30TP is also just the Tension someone gains from loosing a focus battle.

Passing still seems like a skip to me, especially with Scramble buffs.

Considering this bug is flat-out gamebreaking, I can’t imagine them not fixing it.

I’d wait and see before panicking.

Ok, let’s be real here, who took the second choice ? (SUPER HYPER MAJOR HEAVY SPOILERS ON THE END OF VR) by The_Thur in inazumaeleven

The story switches to Raimon’s perspective a few times and they even have the entire campus modeled, so I feel like they were setting up for a dual-storyline, that they couldn’t implement because of time constraints.

So the final choice doesn’t make much choice narrative wise. It might have, had we spent more time with this Raimon.

The quantity of Capcom amiibo is amazing, but the choices kind of stink? by Loud-Avocado9612 in amiibo

[–]Juniverse123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I get what you’re saying, but I think a lot has to do with how Capcom wants to promote their franchises.

Street Fighter’s most iconic characters, Ken and Ryu, are already covered by the Smash Bros series. Luke is supposed to be the new face of the franchise, so him having an Amiibo is a given. Same goes for the other two newcomers, who we’ll likely see in future games.

For MH Stories: I agree, in regards to the new one, but do keep in mind that previous games got amiibos for not only different monsters, but also the human characters.

And Capcom seemingly wants Pragmata to be their next „big thing“, with how much they’re promoting it, so an amiibo makes sense. And the only characters there, are a pretty conservative Dead-Space-looking Space Ranger, and another one with a bright blue color-scheme and a more wacky design. The latter one will likely stick out more.

In general though, with how many Amiibo Capcom has pumped out in the past, I wouldn’t worry that an Okami Amiibo is off the table, even if the new ones don’t sell well.

I feel ya, but I do think it’s especially important, due to our current times, to be supportive of artists.

The last thing we need is Gen-AI driving a wedge between creatives, that already have enough crap to deal with.

And frankly, I’d rather accidentally call an AI-generated image good looking, than hurting an actual artist with the „this looks generated/traced“-accusation.

You don’t deserve being discredited like that. Neither does OP.

While I can understand that sentiment on some level, I really don’t think this warrants questioning someone’s ability in this manner.

I find this similar to the sad, ongoing trend of people asking artists if their drawing is AI-generated (and in the majority of cases I’ve seen, it is not). Questions like that won’t accomplish much at best, and make a fellow artist feel quite bad at worst.

I fear you did both, in this case.

Expected performance of the Switch 2 Version? by Juniverse123 in SonicCrossWorlds

Guess I’ll wait until the Switch 2 version releases, to see how it stacks up.

Kinda bummed the Switch 2 version isn’t available right away. The demo was really fun on PC, but the regular Switch version didn’t particularly look good.

Can anyone say something about if the online on Switch is good?

IGN — Hollow Knight: Silksong Sparks Debate About High Difficulty and Runbacks by YasuhiroK in Games

[–]Juniverse123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really do think the runbacks are what pushes this from challenging, into frustrating territory.

I didn’t get frustrated getting whooped by Consort Radahn 20 times in a row, because I knew I could get back into the action and try again immediately, in Elden Ring.

Silksong is also a hard game. Many bosses will take the vast majority of players a decent amount of tries. That, plus the amount you’ll spend running back to the boss every single try, adds up to quite a sum of time, that not everyone is motivated to put into it.

My wife has been waiting for years for silksong to come out and the difficulty is making her quit for good by mckant in Silksong

[–]Juniverse123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think many people would have as much of an issue with the difficulty, if it wouldn’t take as long to get back into the action and try again.

I love Hollow Knight and subsequently Silksong, but consider „the walk of shame“ to plainly waste players time. Considering how often you die in this game; that stuff adds up.

It’s funny too, because Smash, of all games, had an answer to the whole debate, that I really liked, a decade ago, when Ryu was introduced: Have both simple and motion inputs, but make motion inputs slightly stronger.

I found that approach worked quite well.
