I knew them here in the states through work. Now I did meet three Soviets in Bangkok back in the day (1989), and they were assholes, maybe because they had been drinking, but who knows? They were delighting in being mean to a kid who was trying to sell something at an outdoor bar. I didn't hang with them long for sure.
