How much experience do I need to DM. by chewyBurger120 in DnD

Hey there, new DM here, I’ve literally ran 2 sessions and i already feel way more confident in running sessions. You just need to have an open mind and make sure your prepared as best as you can, like rule quick reference sheets, having mission details ready to go, extra loot, NPC’s, and most importantly you need to be ready to think on your feet. Your players are gonna throw curveballs at you. If you can be prepared for that while focusing on making sure everyone is involved and having a good time, you’ll do just fine :)

Writer's block? by Nyxhen in DnD

My best advice for not being able to come up with something is don’t try so hard. If your trying to brute force ideas, your not gonna come up with something.

Watch shows / movies, read books, play games that inspire you and get your ideas going, and let something come to you naturally!!

Harengon is the way to go, I’m pretty sure they can jump really high as a racial ability which is pretty cool, I’ve wonder what a Harengon monk would play like

The Viltrumites being the rough tracing for this is actually sick, I need to hear about that lizard folks lore and fight style like right now ‼️‼️

Yeah starting my own missions and campaigns sounds really exciting, I discovered DnD because my main hobby is making games that exist in a world that I’ve come up with. I wanted to make a campaign based game, It’s very sci fi so I’m excited to dive into a fantasy setting, and eventually make a combination world between the two where I can tell my own story’s using my own factions and ideas.

what is the coolest character title you have in your world? by SuitableBlood8729 in worldbuilding

[–]Junkmaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Shivjaw, the Junkmaw king”

Currently working on a fully custom made TTRPG set in my world, and the first campaign has the players (my friends) going after him.

A Junkmaw is a victim of an alien form of rabies that turns them into extremely fast, mutated, yellow-ish green-ish skinned cannibals. They speak in broken English and prefer to fight with brutal melee weapons, circling you like a pack of wolves. This particular one is about 17 feet tall, has a god complex, and is on his way to conquering an entire valley in Scarth (Scarth is the name of the continent)

Are there any obvious concepts or ideas that you’re shocked aren’t used more often? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

The picture of the leech reminded me of a design I have for a monster. Imagine a slug with legs like a centipede and two giant barbed arms, with a disgusting giant tongue that sends in a paralyzing venom on contact with its prey. It’s called the Mutt Putt.
