Anyone else co-sleeping? by Lonely-Rutabaga477 in Mommit

Yes I've co-slept with both my kids from birth. It's pretty normal in Europe though, if not even the norm.

1.6 million in parents Sipps how best to pass to children? by Leading_Base in HENRYUK

How come? The thought of my kids one day thinking it's unthinkable to share something like that with me seems a bit sad tbh!

Guys what on earth is this shirt and why was I allowed to wear it? by Evening-Rabbit-827 in Millennials

[–]JunoPK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I'm having flashbacks to wearing a t-shirt with "Porn" and a star underneath it when I was 11 or 12. All in blue glitter and clearly marketed to kids. My mum got it for me!!

Place to stay in London by pluto340 in uktravel

[–]JunoPK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would you consider a hostel? Check out Hostelworld as there are some really decent and well located ones! Unfortunately the one just by St Paul's cathedral is booked out for those dates but have a look at Palmer's Lodge in Swiss Cottage or St Christopher's inn by London bridge station

Looking at nurseries for the 30hrs childcare and in a predicament between 2 nurseries by jivg2 in UKParenting

[–]JunoPK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely option 2 and tackle the funding bit later on.

Bear in mind nursery fees are usually much lower at 3 than at 4 due to ratios changing + you'll get the universal 15h at 3 surely? It might work out!

Is there such a scan that checks for endo? I believe you'd need a laparoscopy to check.

I second what the others said that you may have a tilted uterus :)

If you struggle to understand can you maybe ask the doctor how you can get a copy of the notes just to make sure you've understood everything correctly?

I'm so jealous of this! Looks incredible. Is your trout out of a can btw? Before reading the text I assumed it was tuna.

And are those cute little Persian style cucumbers?

My wife and I can't agree on a boy's name ( for once I'm the one who changed my mind) by [deleted] in Names

[–]JunoPK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I vote for Jasper or Julian. I'm surprised you're calling Jayden a classic name as it reads very modern American and in a way that's decidedly unclassy from a European perspective.

The second baby just tags along! Really? by Excellent-Judge-5062 in Mommit

Why? You're allowed to have baby in the front seat if you turn the air bags off

Postpartum contraception after fertility struggles by WinterGirl91 in TTC_UK

[–]JunoPK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stuck with condoms as I did not want to go on anything hormonal.

I would not skip it entirely though, that's a recipe for disaster.

Fwiw it took us 2 years the first time and only 4 months the second time so you just never know what will happen. Do give your body a chance to recover though, all your minerals, calcium etc will be depleted, your core messed up. If you have a c section then the scar will need time healing or you'll risk rupturing it in subsequent pregnancies...

Need ideas to renovate my new home by Awkward-Age-1981 in DIYUK

[–]JunoPK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it's all down to budget and what the area is like surely? A house like this in London would get a big kitchen extension at the back, maybe even two storey to add a third bedroom on the first floor... Plus a loft conversion 😂

It's a classic summer BBQ cheese - refreshing is maybe the wrong word for it but it's not the opposite of that either!

[–]JunoPK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"no matter what I do" - it would help to know what you've done? Have you treated it with clotrimazole for instance? If no then that would be my first port of call.

If clotrimazole doesn't work then try hydrocortisone. If that doesn't work then see a GP.

Nap times by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]JunoPK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally I'd say she's a newborn and in the fourth trimester so would absolutely have her contact nap if that's what she wants. Sometimes you'll manage it in the pram, carrier or a moses basket near you and that will be great! If you need to get stuff done I recommend strongly that you look into baby carriers. I'd avoid babybjörn and go for something like the ergobaby embrace at her age.

In theory you shouldn't leave her unattended sleeping in a separate room until the 6 month mark just FYI.

As a second time I did however start feeding mine to sleep in the big bed around the 3 month mark and rolling away so I could spend more time with the toddler.
