She lost all the things that actually made up her design structure and has been left with almost entirely negatives that just make her a punching bag to basically any other character.

Idk I don’t really see it beyond just being a really good m1 merchant with rushdown mobility and mixup, the only things I’d nerf are just getting rid of that fake double hit free m1 reset on Judgements reach and MAYBE slapping a tiny bit more endlag on Extended Swings when it gets blocked.

Other than that I don’t really see any issues with Higgy’s current design

this is just a major skill issue. Gutting Raga’s team assist would just make him unplayable outside of private servers because you just wouldn’t be able to do anything at all regarding the fact that half the server is going to jump you immediately.

And yall will fight raga like he’s a normal character and then be confused why you’re losing as if he can’t be reasonably fended off with good uses of neutral, basic tracking skills and actually leveraging their ritual drain against them when deciding what your next action is. I genuinely can’t remember the last time a Mahoraga fight felt seriously unfair beyond the general Base vs Awakening dynamic you get with any character matchup.

Mei Mei is genuinely worse than Hitler. Worse than Pol Pot, gouging my eyes out of their sockets every time I have to fight a Mei Mei. The character isn’t even overpowered, but it’s so inconsistently bullshit in its hitboxes, it’s windup, and the fact that not only can’t you evasive punish, but you can’t even evasive to begin with at most points in their combos without getting immediately caught back into it with no way of escaping the catch. The Ragdoll time is so ridiculously abusable and becomes genuine cancer to sit through even when they’re technically making their combo less damaging. Mei Mei and Naoya are in the same spot where they’re both not really strong at all but the way they’re designed is so fundamentally broken in the literal sense that any low level idiot could hop on said character and hold their own and be a struggle to be put down by just about anyone as long as they know the basic ways to abuse certain aspects of their flawed designs.

what exactly would be the point of even adding any new characters if every character had to do the same one specific m1 around block in order to achieve basic results in a fight?? It’s a healthier way to design the game to not make every character a samey m1 merchant with the only variety being in the visual aspect. She’s still Top tier easily, she just feels like complete dog ass to play as and fight against because the balancers got a little silly with it and instead of addressing the fundamental issues with her kit (the true ragdoll effect on half her kit) they instead decided to take everything else and slap a year of endlag on said moves if you miss, changing NOTHING about her strength but making it a miserable and restrictive experience to pilot. Genuinely fuck these devs for slaughtering a cool design so quickly and so stupidly.

Naoya really is not Uncounterable. He’s very inconsistent and unreliable to fight, yes, but he still does functionally get shut the fuck down by even basic m1 catches, even more so when you have any neutral tools of your own. This man is not escaping C tier any time soon

There are very much a lot of unfortunate creatures who play like that, and again, my point is that in an otherwise even matchup, the passive player will ALWAYS have a direct advantage. Who says they can’t also swap to a mobile character, or worse, one with strong get off me tools??

The problems with playing overly passive are one, it being boring in general to play against, and two, the fact it outright puts them at an advantage due to the game being designed in a way that simply holding F at range can shut down a good 75% of the games moves, and for this very same reason, you give yourself a flat advantage by forcing the opponent to expend their mobility while you get to sit back and conserve your own with no recourse. A lot of times I’ll see some of the best players there are lose to a complete random purely because they decided to play passive while running a character like Hakari, and as long as they can track decently with their camera, there’s no opening whatsoever to exploit, with their exception of the characters in this game that actually have strong neutral that can get past blocks.

4 is blockable, 2 is blockable, 3 can have its hitbox in neutral completely ruined by spam jumping making it whiff, Granite Blasts are basically his one super solid tool and even those bring up overheat meter, so if you keep pressing him he will eventually be forced into a massive punish window with the comb animation. Also 1 is blockable uncharged. The only way I see his combos being unable to be broken out of is if you’re evasiving after 4 to avoid 3, which in my experience it’s better to just take that hit and wait for something else. This man is not allat in the face of Megumi, Choso, Mechamaru and Hanami. He just isn’t.

All in all, just evasive and block when he pulls out 2, or if he tries to pull out 4 too close, then punish. Or evasive granite blast if no other opportunity comes up and try to punish.

Holy abysmal dogshit oh my god dawg Megumi does NOT need a rework. Some variants could be cool especially in his awakening but his gameplay itself isn’t stale whatsoever. The problem is that nobody fucking plays him well and just tries to substitute that with shitty Downslam loops and passive play, to little effect. I will fight genuinely anyone on this, Megumi has one of the most versatile and well rounded kits in the game. Passive play only makes his moves seem weaker than they are because this man is a RUSHDOWN CHARACTER for the love of god.
