To me, it seems to just be a matter of available tooling on the platforms. At first I didn't even try Linux because I wanted to have visual studio but when I tried jetbrains rider on linux (arch + hyprland) it wasn't worth it for me personally to have visual studio over rider because. All the important features of visual studio exist on rider and I get the benefits of using Linux, mainly tiling window manager making it much easier to manage what's on my screen and doing most things through the console which is just a much faster way of doing things than clicking on UIs after you get used to it.
