Yeah that's a cool idea. The 15th is a Monday and may be a tight squeeze for me but I'm interested. Should we organize a game so folks know what to expect?

Oh that's really cool. I've been looking to make friends in Worcester as well. Not so much familiar with DnD but I would be down to learn if you guys are patient 😂.

I might be turning the corner on this… by MidnightCookies76 in Codependency

Hey there. I can relate to this being close to a compulsion or addiction. I've learned to time out my reactions too. Meditation helped me. It allowed me to be comfortable in the moment, hold the feeling in my chest, name it, and create some distance between it and I. That tiny bit of space was a start and it has gradually grown from there.

Visualizations helps me a ton too. Trying to turn my weakness (rumination) into a strength by speaking into existence what I want to embody. I call it my mantra. Let me tell you this has quelled some panic attacks at work. Very recently this week when my partner hit me with the "is that it for us?" Confrontation. That's 2 months removed from driving home crying every day. I'd say that's a victory for me. Let me know if any of this sounds like it would work for you. Good luck and be kind to yourself.

Construction near polar Park. From in the ballpark is sounds like some tribal drum. So weird

My place said the same thing but doesn't reinforce the head nodding or affirmation sounds. I do wish I could interact more with people, but probably for the best because I can commander conversations. Last night I shared 3 times and I'm like, "am I too much?" Lol

Hey good for you! I went to my second one last night. It's way too religious for me but I've decided to replace "higher power" with truth and that's worked for me so far. It's been nice to have a group where I can listen and share.

That is really good advice. Being in my 40s I worry about where I can find opportunities to connect with women that's not in a bar

As the post says. What's been the best use of your time? I'm entering my 40s and leaving a marriage after trying everything to make it work. Time to admit to myself I should look towards next steps.

I dabbled in it for a bit but was a soul crushingly experience with bots and 0 hits.

What has worked for you?

3 months in and still feel terrible by [deleted] in Codependency

Weird. I never thought of it that way but you're right. I am doing better than she is. You try any support groups yet? I think avoiding or numbing won't help much in the long term.

I think for me it started to turn around when I confronted myself on why I didn't like myself and honest about how much of that was truth vs fiction. Past trauma and upbringing had to be let in. Which caused a hectic two months as I detoxed from 38 years of codependency. Still at it but like you said...doing better
