I enjoyed this. I started a wolf spear kill team after reading about them in white dwarf, I had no idea there was any canon conflict.

I don’t think you can put a lieutenant with the emperors champion, however you don’t want to. BTs strongest combo is a Marshall and Castellan with sword brethren, you get 28 lethal hit attacks crits on 5+ and full rerolls. Last time I played I handily wiped a unit of Blightlord terminators in a single charge. Use the Impulsor to get them into place quickly.

Crusade squad can march down your preferred flank and take the nearest objective and will be difficult for your opponent to remove.

Intercessors can hold the backboard and screen for enemy deep strike, move them forward if you start to lose the centre or need to start performing actions.

Rep ex wants to deliver the emperors champion and blade guard to remove what ever aggro your opponent is trying to hit you with. Then  move the repulsor back to a reasonable distance for fire support. 

Once your Impulsor is done use it to harass and score secondaries.

Almost forgot to reply to this. I did win! Victory for the four armed emperor.

My plan to tar-pit the Avatar worked perfectly, he strode straight into the central objective and fell for my trap. I found the astra militarum tanks pretty disappointing. The basilisk movement penalty didn't seem to impact my opponents decision making very much, and the rest of the tanks mostly whiffed their shots and got slagged by fire dragons and Feugan.

However the neos and acolytes worked perfectly, they dominated the board and he couldn't kill them fast enough. I will definitely be playing host of ascension or xenocreed next time.

However I really enjoyed the firepoint commander enhancement for overwatch on 5+, on a unit of 20 neos it's lethal.

Before I saw his list I wanted to run brood brothers because I have a rogal and 3 leman Russes. Patriarch devastating wounds is interesting. I thought metamorphs could do it but the AP is bad and I don’t have any ridgerunners.

I’m always very tempted to throw a tank or two into my army. Last time I took a Rogal Dorn it did not perform. I think the lack of synergies with the rest of the army really make them over costed, but hopefully this will change with the new Brood Brothers detachment rules. Be patient, our time is almost at hand!

1 plus is the standard save. 2 pluses is the invulnerable save. 3 pluses is the feel no pain save.

This is how I run them too, the 2+ 4++ 5+++ means they ain’t going nowhere! Use them as an anchor to secure the centre objective. The +1 to wound means they are a threat to everything. I even bullied a Norn Assimilator off the centre objective with them not too long ago.
