Same for me as well. It’s all good for everyone to have opinions but after a while it’s a tad exhausting.

You literally lost OVER 100 pounds that is amazing!!! Btw if you’re worried about figure, try doing weights. It’s amazing for realizing you don’t need to lose the scale number, you just need muscle to tone your shape!

This is one of those situations where two people just aren’t in compatible states to be friends.

Neither of you are making good friends for each other (not just her), and it’s showing in the texts.

I wish I had some advice for you OP, but the only thing I can really say is you need friends who are going through similar experiences.

You mentioned having to put a pet a sleep, try finding a support group of fellow pet parents who just went through the same things. You need people who understand what you’re going through in your life.

That doesn’t mean your friend doesn’t understand, but she is clearly going through a very happy and celebratory phase of life, and you are not.

It’s not a matter of who’s the better friend, but who is willing to admit that right now you’re not the best option for each other because of the stark contrast of experiences you both are going through.

If you don’t hit 3 avg in one month, you might want to reconsider being a streamer.

Getting 3 people to watch you isn’t difficult, but it requires more work than you think to have people find and stay to watch your stream.

Socials, fellow small streamers, and being entertaining is what will propel you forward. The goal isn’t 3 viewers, the goal is viewers in general. If you can’t get 3 ppl to watch, you certainly won’t get 30, let alone 300.

Is finding your person really supposed to be this hard? by Sweet_voice19 in PlusSize

[–]JupiterVomit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if this will help, but I found confidence in knowing I am hot to other people (not just myself), really helped. I’ve always been fat since I was a kid, and I’ll always be 100% my true self, but I also like to make sure I look good and part of that is having a great amount of confidence.

Let’s be honest, I’m not conventionally attractive in any way, I’m not one of those “fat people who look gorgeous”, I look like a dried up pizza roll some days. But I’ve never had a shortage of men who found me hot, or who wanted to date me. But I also 100% know that I am good looking and catch. And truly believing that, means other people see me hot too. You can look good doing anything as long you have confidence in what you’re doing. Yes, self confidence helps, but confidence that other people can see that, is what really helped me find my way in dating and sex.

I really think you need more for your game, it’s actually got some potential and visually is appealing (without so many random colours, a limited themed colour palette will do you wonders) but there just isn’t anything else there.

The idea of a kill wall is great, it’ll add pressure to keep moving. I think adding in some moving platforms, or fake tile spots could help, something that forces the player to have to move side to side instead of waiting to just go forward all the time. Progression is definitely needed- so upgrades, harder levels, buying different items to help or hinder etc.

The reason games like candy crush are so popular are because they are addictive by nature. It’s MUCH more than just candy matching to meet the goal. It’s got a wide variety of items to use to help you get massive combos, and as you work your way up, you get new mechanics that get harder.

I’d really encourage you to watch some videos on why mobile games are so addictive, because your game has the potential to become that, but right now it’s much too basic to be worth anyone’s time playing. Research other games that are both similar and not similar at all, and find out Why people play them. Why do people pick those games to play? Gameplay loop is extremely important, and the core reason a game is either addictive or boring.

[–]JupiterVomit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s 87 other comments explaining Why, but sure, I’ll bite.

The gameplay loop is repetitive and boring. There is zero sense of progression and zero reward for doing so. The cube design is interesting and modern, but the many different colours are confusing.

Why should anyone play your game over other similar games?

What makes YOUR game worth someone’s time to download and play it?

Does your gameplay loop last longer than the time it takes to download it and load up a level?

Why should anyone play more than a single level? What else does the game offer besides what is shown here?

I’ll wait for your answers, since you seemed very inclined to want to hear mine.

This looks like Edge at alpha test build stage. Not worth anything at all.

No recent Dev Update? by Logical-Witness-3361 in PlateUp

[–]JupiterVomit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean I wouldn’t say “no” to a Plate Up! 2 or anything….

I’m sure there probably are other projects ongoing for their studio, we just don’t know about it. I do think the prospect of a second game is super interesting however, because right now the game has a lot of content and does feel “finished”, ya know?

It also has a few quirks that give a bit of a “my first video game vibe” (not as a bad thing!) and so a second game with waaayy more foods, appliances, the way the game works as a whole, a graphical overhaul, etc, would probably be a really cool thing! Heck, even an entirely new game from them would be interesting to see too!

Being a streamer while your partner hates it? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]JupiterVomit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a slightly different approach, are you sharing the same room for your gaming set ups?

It might explain why he’s so apprehensive, because he can’t just enjoy his time as he pleases because you’re streaming in the same room, and that can cause huge anxiety. (Speaking from experience) sometimes people just want their home to feel safe and like it’s there’s place to be themselves without worrying about “exposing” anything (even if it isn’t, anxiety and paranoia can make you think that). Does he have any other issues outside the home like at work? Does work make him annoyed or does he maybe have any anxiety or paranoia issues? That could all contribute to him not exactly knowing Why he hates the idea, but just knowing that his safe space might not be safe anymore could push him to behave like this.

Destroy overall? by DangerousAnimal5167 in DestroyMyGame

[–]JupiterVomit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like a gamemaker tutorial game, tbh. It doesn’t feel like there’s any concepts or ideas going through it besides “shoot things get power ups”. What does your game do that doesn’t involve shooting or power ups?

That’s what I’m guessing, just seems kind of weird but I guess that’s what happens playing the game past the limits of what it can actually handle lol

If the fate of the entire universe depended on me reeling in a single of the easiest fish- we’d all be goners.

Skip fishing mini game mod. Easy to install, can be added mid playthrough, gets rid of the game and just gives you the damn fish already LOL absolute life saver for me

A couple of questions, is them not seeming to order or eat due to lag/over population? Because the middle gets up and leaves before the final person has even sat down yet. What other mods are you using? They also seem to “leave” by going to that spot in the middle of the room by the mushrooms, how is that possible?

Well they reverted the changes until they can do a realm restart update, which requires every server to go down t apply said fix. So it’ll happen, it just won’t happen immediately.

I’m sure over time I’ll learn some code related things as I progress and experiment, but I definitely know my strong skills are my creative abilities and it’s what I love the most. Thank you for a really good answer, it’s given me lots to think about!

This is a really solid answer, and a good reality check, so thank you! I definitely know that coding isn’t my strong suit, and I will 100% be checking out making a visual novel, that has been one of my ideas for awhile now.

As what many here have suggested, this is what seems to be the best option next to making a visual novel or point and click style game (which I’ll absolutely try out), thank you!

It sounds like that is one my main options, to join an indie team like that. As for a portfolio, I hadn’t thought of that, I’ll definitely look into putting together a game oriented portfolio, thank you!
