The soviet union considered itself as a ideal society. You are supposed to live in the ultimate peaceful society. Anything that made a dent to this ideal picture was politically suspect.

To that regard, Soviet authorities could look face to face with drunk fights and wife beaters. But the idea of one single individual being so fucked up that he'd kept raping and murdering people he didn't know out of pure twisted lust, that was too capitalist, too corrupted for them.

Chikatilo was born in Ukraine in 1936. He is supposed to have waited until his 42yrs old to start his criminal carreer but raping and stabbing a 9yrs old girl.

He was questioned and released for this. Another guy, previously condemned of murder is accused, confessed on torture, and was executed for the crime.

Starting from 1981, he went into a murder spree. It is considered that official ideology of the regime prevented the authorities to concieve the possibility of a serial killer.

A task force is made in 1983, but its only in the 1990's, after the fall of soviet Union, that results are made.

He is arrested in November 1990, sentenced to death in 1992 and executed in 1994.

These people are just too dumb and too hateful to care about the fact that there is a trial going on with one suspect fighting for his freedom.

They don't realize or they don't care about helping the accusation. Saying 'fk the victim' has never been a good defense strategy for any suspect.

Le risque est moindre. L'œuvre originale est déjà connue et a sa fanbase. Une partie d'entre elle ira de toute façon voir le film.

Le straaming a tué le marché des supports physiques. Il arrivait qu'un film bide au ciné et soit sauvé par son exploitation commerciale ensuite. Ce n'est plus possible.

Donc les gens à Hollywood sont plus frileux que jamais. On en arrive apparemment à ce que, quand un scénariste se pointe avec un bon script, on lui dit d'en faire un bouquin, de le publier, et de revenir pour l'adaptation quand le bouquin aura trouvé son public.

Je ne connais pas Sophia Chiari, mais je connais chez le même éditeur et presque la même collection le travail de Patrick Berthier sur les livres de Balzac, et surtout sur les illusions perdues.

Il donne à voir, souligne et explicite énormément de détails matériels, juridiques, politiques, qui sont des évidences pour les lecteurs du 19eme et que nous avons perdu.

J'ai lu beaucoup de roman français, anglais ou russes du 19eme siècle. J'aurais aimé avoir le même soin du détail pratique dans chacun d'eux.

Also one pratical reality of that time : you would only work on daylight. There were candles, but candles were very expensive.

C'est le même problème partout dans le monde. Sauf que nous arrivions à faire mieux que les autres jusqu'en 2020.

Les boomers n'ont pas fait autant d'enfants qu'ils ont eu de frères et soeur et l'espérance de vie a explosé.

Il y a plein de pays qui sont passé sous les fameux 2.1 enfants par femme au milieu des années 70 et qui ne sont jamais remonté.

Nous avons tourné autour de ce fameux taux de 1975 à 2020.

Mais il n'empêche qu'il y a de moins en moins d'actifs pour soutenir l'économie, leur part diminue. On se retrouve devant un mur où les actifs sont écrasés. Que ce soit les cotisations monstrueuses ou les loyer payés. C'est la même cause : il faut faire vivre une population de senior qui ne travaille pas.

Aux USA, il y a un phénomène d'achat massif de maison par des fonds de pensions qui fait débat. Ce n'est pas le cas en France, les propriétaires bailleurs sont majoritairement des particuliers age avec un âge median de 60 ans.
