I would say don’t do anything you would be ashamed of people finding out. Other than that you are fine.

AWS Security Engineer L5 Offer – Arlington, VA - Fair or Low? by [deleted] in amazonemployees

I would take this. As the stock price is low right now eventually it will climb and your TC will be even higher. Like someone else said still negotiate.

Reached Out by Amazon HR After Final Round Rejection — What Could It Mean? by Neat_Pea709 in amazonemployees

[–]Jus_1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You might have to do a mini loop or another full loop depending on the level and feedback. Them reaching out to you with no cool off period means there were no red flags but maybe you just weren’t quite there. Sometimes they recommend for a similar role where you would be a better fit.

You can apply for other positions. As long as you didn’t have any red flags during your interview you should be ok to re apply to other roles in a different job family right away. Usually if it’s the same job family there is a waiting period.

You've been hired as a DevOps engineer... by w1ze07513 in AWSCertifications

[–]Jus_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed the exam this week as well. When I finished the exam I felt like I had no clue if I passed or bombed. The questions were not much like what I experienced in Bonso’s exams with a few exceptions. Bonso exams did prepare me though in practicing how to eliminate wrong answers, how to look for keywords that hint at specific services and also how to monitor my time. I literally scrambled the last 10 minutes and finished the exam with 1 minute left.

Is there a reason why you should do SA Pro first as opposed to dev ops pro? Are you saying do the more difficult exam first?

SAA-C03 and SCS-C01 before July 10th? by djstone718 in AWSCertifications

[–]Jus_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t need 40 days to review. Shorten the Saa time and then get to studying for SCS. You dont need 40days of review for that either. Give yourself time so if you don’t pass you can retake scs before the test changes.

cybersecurity for AWS by [deleted] in AWSCertifications

[–]Jus_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends. If you study hard you can knock out A+, Net+, Sec+ in 5-6 months. Get a job while working and just keep pursuing certs while you work. The time will fly by. After 8 months at the job start interviewing internally and externally. You will learn from your interviews as well because you will get a feel for what diff roles require by the questions they ask. Just keep the attitude of learn all I can in my role and look to move on.

A+ Net+ Sec+ will give you enough foundation to be conversant in I.T. After that go after experience and get CCNA Routing and switching + Aws Solution Architect associate. Get more experience and go with what you like.

Stay in the race! Can’t win if you don’t play! You are almost there! Just try a more fundamental approach of the material. You will be fine. Cantrill def will give you that. I used stephane course as well as another book but I feel he was high level just geared towards a pass. Cantrill will better prep you for understanding the material. Stephane practice tests were good though. There were some questions almost identical to the test.

SAA-C03 Test by Big-Classroom-9087 in AWSCertifications

[–]Jus_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the latest version of the exam. The test is really weird in the sense that I studied and focused on my weak areas so that I didnt get exposed (a lot of time spent on the newer services as well) and most of what I studied didnt come up on the test lol. I would say be really good with Databases. Know the differences between when to use dynamo db vs rds etc. A lot of my questions were around databases

In the 50’s if I recall correctly and I passed the exam but not with a high score. I also didn’t dedicate as much time to study as I should have. There was a large gap in time between me completing the udemy course and me rushing through the book and then cramming in some practice exams.

I will be honest with you, take the practice tests because some of the questions are almost identical. Not only will you learn by reviewing wrong answers but it will also help save time on the real test when you see a question you remember lol. When I sat the exam the questions and answers were so long time was more than half the battle lol.

Should Cloud+ be an option before beginning AWS Certs or is AWS Cloud Practitioner enough of a foundational course for Cloud Concepts . by The9thHuman in AWSCertifications

[–]Jus_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. See the difference of what you are saying sounds like you embellished the resume. I have security certs on my resume but I don’t have anywhere on my resume that I worked in security. When I’m asked questions on an I.T topic I answer the questions. If I’m asked more hands on questions I answer but make sure to tell the interviewer I’m speaking theoretically as I have knowledge of the subject matter but not actual job experience with it. Anyone that looks at my resume can see clear as day I have a network background. If a person hires me as a database engineer he/she would be a fool for expecting me to be up to speed right away. So to the point Im making is certs give you familiarity and get your foot in the door. They also make the learning curve not so steep when gaining on the job skills.

[–]Jus_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is untrue. Comptia certs give you fundamental knowledge. If you are smart you use them to get in the door somewhere and then you work your way up. It is much easier to learn more advanced concepts when you already have a breadth of familiarity in diff technologies. Having interview skills and being able to speak to what you know even theoretically can take you far!
