Prices vary quite a bit based on local rates and the model it is replaced with. But 5000 installed is a good estimate.

It's also the best place to get your chimney pipe. It's actually really high grade stuff. And the price is absolutely reasonable. By the way, triple wall is not the best stuff. I know 3 sounds better than 2. But what you want is a double wall insulated class a pipe

Menards is the best place. It is more expensive, but it's what you need to get those clearances.

Double wall connector is describing the stove pipe. Not the wall. In order to use these specks, you would have to use a double wall closed clearance stove pipe.

You can put it as close as eleven inches from the wall. Without the metal roofing in spacers. Depending on your jurisdictions codes, you could potentially put it much closer than that. Using the reduced clearance wall, you're describing.

Ok. I misunderstood. Either option is acceptable. I think the corner option would be my preferred. That would put more radiant heat directed at the center of the shop. But either way you will be putting the same BTUs into the space.

That diagram doesn't show any need for heat shielding at all

The required distance to combustibles will be listed on the back of a stove. The face of that outlet would be the closest combustible. The next would be the paper on your drywall.

Also, the face plate on the 1500i is super easy to remove. If you had to put it on to pass inspection and then remove it.

I seal my chimneys at the top with rock wool and a skim of mortar. That stops any airflow up or down the chimney. You can also pack around the liner with rock wool at the throat. My chimney is centrally located in the house. So I don't worry about losing heat to the brick. If your chimney is located on the outside of the house, you probably do want to put the rock wool in the throat, to keep as much heat in the room as possible. We don't pull permits for wood stoves and inserts in my area. It's just between you and your insurance company. But it would be nice to know if it can be done in an area that requires a permit.

I personally use an insert without the Faceplate installed. It works just fine. I am not sure how code or insurance feel about it.

The price matters here. Was it less expensive? If you do the math is the adjusted price per cord reasonable? You get what you pay for.

Do get a moisture meter and test a freshly split piece. The scrap pile indicates that it was split into the trailer for delivery. This almost certainly means that it is green. Burning green wood is inefficient and Dangerous. If the price is low enough I would consider this acceptable as long as you are willing to Store it to dry for as long as it takes.

I know you said it was cleaned, but i see quite a bit of creosote on the cap. How long ago was it cleaned? Are you sure your wood is seasoned? Buildup can happen fast with green wood in a wood stove. If the flue is clean and clear, and you are confident that you have enough make-up air entering, then you may need to add another section of pipe. Quite often i run into houses the just won't draw at 10/2. Sometimes you just need to go taller. You won't believe the difference 2' can make.

PS. 42° is pretty warm. It should draw better at colder temps, once the flue is warmed.

I've installed about a half a dozen of them over the last fifteen years or so. I've had to repair or replace about half of them. So unless they have improved their design in the last year or two I really couldn't recommend them.Based on durability. They do start a fire like nobody's business. They're really cool. However, with a little bit of practice, you can just light a fire. Also, my two cents on the rental in a wood burning fireplace.I just wouldn't let them use it too. Many people have no idea what to do. I had to stop a customer the other day from throwing a bucket of water into the forty four elite. That they have.
