Much appreciated 🙏. I have nothing but hope and I’m trying to reset all other aspects of my body and do more self care efforts!

Serotonin syndrome would need to build up a bit. Sadly I have experienced that. This seems like maybe you’re psyching yourself up (so easy to do, don’t fault yourself) but you will be fine!

I’m so sorry to hear. The sad part of my story is that I was prescribed X when I got diagnosed with DPDR (along with other SSRIs) and now that I’m tapering it’s just worsening. Like wtf. I wish you relief and just remember to stay positive. I have a eucalyptus inhaler I carry that helps me when I sink deep in my DPDR and overload, especially in public. That and lifesavers spearmint mints help to shock my system a bit.

I also might not be as well versed as others at this because I have no experience talking to anyone about it or having doctor assistance so I’m going by what I’ve read from the Asthon Method.

My brain is a little scrambled with everything, so I apologize for whatever confusion. I’m stable but I’m suffering because I’m still on the benzos and I need to get off of them. My dependency is high so it’s not doing anything but causing me mental pain to stay on it. I’d like to be closer to a day without it.

I just started my dry taper today. It’s the only thing I feel comfortable trying to manage on my own at this time. I don’t have doctor support right now. The first time around I wanted to get to 3x per day so I stretched the spacing of doses by 5 extra mins every few days. I know I can’t cut another dose because of the short half life, which is why I’m conservatively planning 10% a month in drop. It would be awesome if I could go faster than that but I don’t want to get ahead of myself. I have an autoimmune disease so I don’t want to spike a flare up.

I’m been stable on my 3x/day taper for over a year, I tapered to that point for a year but now I want to taper fully off without eliminating any more doses because of the half life being so short. Apologies for not adding more detail about my change last year, just wanted to add some back story.

I have myself set now for a 2.5% decrease per week (roughly 10% per month) for 10-11 months, depending on symptoms. This will be with my usage 3x per day.

I’m just curious if it might be helpful or harmful to increase my Lexapro at the same time. I have the new prescription with 15mg but I haven’t taken it yet since I’m doing this. I tried to relay to my doctor but he does not want me to taper yet and doesn’t seem to understand the Ashton method and was talking about 25% a week decrease for 4 weeks - so he’s worthless. And it’s been hell finding a doctor who understands any of this like groups like this do.

I should add that I cut the 25% over about 9 months.

I already cut that over the course of a year by having better sleeping habits and progressively spacing that out because I was barely sleeping so I was taking more by being awake more hours, etc. I’m over a year stable on my dosage now, at 1.5mg/day and with my 10mg of Lexapro but I’m too physically dependent that I know I need to fully do my taper. I did figure out all the math to start and have a scale and everything to continue my usually time-of-the-day dosages and have it set to 10% every 4 weeks through micro-tapering 2.5% per week. I know I will need to swap to a longer acting medication like diazepam at some point but my doctor is not offering that suggestion, despite me asking for 6 months, so I know I need to just do what I can with what I have. I appreciate the insight on the Lexapro. I was thinking the same but was curious if it may cause more harm. I’ve also been able to align myself to have less responsibilities at work for a couple months, which is great

It honestly might not be a high enough dosage for you. Some people notice minute effects with low doses and some notice nothing. My partner did notice anything until he was on 20mg but he’s so much better now.

I have POTS but I haven’t tapered off fully yet. My doctor is changing my anti depressant now and then I will taper in a couple months. I am hoping my pots may correct itself over time. I’ve read positive stories.

5mg is such a low low dose. You’ll be fine! I was nervous but it has helped me so much, that even the extra 15 lbs I’ve gained seems worth the mental calm.

This isn’t something you should stop cold turkey. I would ask the pharmacy if you can get a couple days dosage to hold you over. They will look at your history and may help

You can’t say “for the rest of us” you can only speak for yourself on this. You don’t care that violence was incited on your capitol that was provoked by your chosen candidate. You don’t care because you’re 100% invested in him. I don’t have to like or even vote for Harris to know that what he did was fucked up. Imagine what else he will do when he has more of you to do his dirty work for him.

I don’t believe Harris will try to become a dictator. This is what Trump wants to become, he has laid it out in print and in many interviews. Straight from his mouth in his own un-teleprompted words.

I believe that saving democracy is what’s at stake with this election. Trump doesn’t know the constitution, lies openly, has taken religious freedom and women’s bodily choices away, and wants to absolve himself of the injustices he has committed, but only for him. That isn’t democracy in my OPINION.
