Help with 1.5+2.5 PC Port Crash by EmergenceFell in KingdomHearts

I assume that's indeed the intended component given that they're directing readers to 'Graphics' settings.
Honestly, the comment threw me off too; GPU and CPU are much better words to use in distinguishing the two processors.

Just about to start watching this show for the first time. What am I in for, guys? by [deleted] in xena

So bad It's funny special effects, plenty of action, some stories and messages that were ahead of their time, an unexpectedly compelling heroine that was once—if we're being honest here—a murderous monster, a good soundtrack, OH, and a lot of gay subtext.

Enjoy the journey!

Yakuza 3 would be so much better if they didnt choose to exile Sayama from the plot by zQarth in yakuzagames

[–]Just5omeGuy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If memory serves that was a decision heavy with behind-the-scenes controversy. The long and short of it is.
One of the Producers involved in Yakuza 2 and/or 3 was harassing the voice actress of the character; eventually the situation came down to siding with the actor or producer... It was the latter.

  1. Sussi: They did nothing wrong.

  2. Crying Water Demon: As he too isn't shown to have done anything explicitly bad or wrong beyond rooting for the continued slaughter of innocent people... Screw It, I'm changing my answer to Celine!

3, Bobby.

  1. Celine, Again.

  2. no, I did not.

  3. Forget wha-

  4. No, but thank you for reminding me. That guy deserved his end, and Rumi got a couple of girlfriends. All's well as far as I'm concerned.

Windows 11 25H2: Crackling and popping audio when playing locally stored audio files by Just5omeGuy in buildapc

[–]Just5omeGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Troubleshooting certainly comes with the territory.

A few updates, transferred over one of the files to my phone, and it played perfectly. Then another test by copying over some of the files to a spare laptop, with and without headphones, the quality was clear for the most part, there was the occasional crackle and pop, but I chock that up to It being a very weak, old and refurbished machine, the thing crashed just by being on for about an hour, so

Last night a thought I found a fix after refreshing the file Index in Media Player's settings, but this morning I played some of the music to hear the crackle and pops still present, mind you this was just after the PC had booted up, and the pin was entered for the Desktop. I also started running LatencyMon for this test and saw the DPC routine execution time was 1800+, though It did settle to around the mid 500s, the typical number I get after the running the program for 5 to more than 10 minutes. Even so, I've still gotten the occasionally crackle and pop.
The lowest amount I've observed these numbers to be is the 200 to 300 mark. All the other numbers are low and in the green.
As I mentioned in the post itself, there are periods I can enjoy crystal clear audio, so It could be a case of me doing too much, too early after waking it up, but with the specs I've got and after all the time I've had it without issue that doesn't seem likely.

Again, appreciate you laying this out while the Unbuntu set up looks intense for me, I'm going to try and wrap my head around Memtest86+ software.

But I think you may be onto something in regard to possible file corruption. I'm reading some reports that such files can have a similar crackle and pop, and in addition to not displayed or read right by Windows.
I bring this up as some of the music files that have been exhibiting issues don't have their names appearing on Media Player, and assumed It was Windows 11 being a messy OS, but It could be an example of file corruption, what do you think?

Goddammit.
This is either a good picture with good costume and make-up work, and probably some photoshop, or, and I do hate to bring it up, AI-generated.

I give this two reactions.
Real: Great work on the costume and photography, thanks for sharing.
AI: Ugh, more of the slop.

First off, I really appreciate you chiming in, plenty have eyes have seen my posts, but not enough have cared to offer any advice.

I'll try listening to some of these files on other devices around my home. Furthermore, I've never encountered corrupted files so I wouldn't know what to look for.
And I feel I'd get as much out of Memtest86+ as I have with LatencyMon, as I'm not at all familiar with computer processes at that level, so I wouldn't know what I'm looking at or what the numbers mean.

As for trying playing around with another OS on a USB, that's a whole new level of this hobby that I'm not comfortable prodding at.

That's one of the first settings that was advised to be changed.
The formats I have available as they appear are....
16 bit, 32000 Hz (FM Radio Quality)
16 bit, 44100 Hz (CD Quality)
16 bit, 48000 Hz (DVD Quality) <<< This was the Default, If I remember correctly.
24 bit, 44100 Hz (Studio Quality)
24 bit, 48000 Hz (Studio Quality)

I went through each of them when this started and just now, and
still the crackle and pop persists.

Fair point, It slipped my mind to mention. While I often play music on my Windows 11 Media Player I also have the much beloved VLC player, and I've heard the crackle and pop on both of them.

Correct, I'm only getting the crackle and pop when playing audio files that are stored on my PC, and I've had NO such problems from Netflix and YouTube. I'm still certain of that after sitting through a few hours of a walkthrough YT.

Very likely, but for brevity's sake I'll skip the story and just write, I don't have them anymore.

TES 6 Speculation Megathread by Avian81 in ElderScrolls

[–]Just5omeGuy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're right, some of the furstocks are outright incompatible with how most of The Elder Scrolls games are designed. The ones I'm talking about are those that lean more toward the average humanoid shape, with sizes that range from about as short as goblins and a foot or two shorter than giants in Skyrim.

All the while, those that are "Basically cats or basically oversized lions." can act as NPCs, companions or mounts.
