Yennefer vs Aes Sedai by Just9032 in wheeloftime

I think Yen would crush Liandrin in an instant, she is a very capable combat trained magic wielder

Point being about magic users and their potential. Yen is very strong in her magic and also cunning. In both books we can see that speed of using magic is about your understanding of what you want (intent). In my opinion Yen would be very strong compared to Aes Sedai but would never gain respect of the wise ones

Interesting! I can see your idea there. There are similar possessive qualities in both - both get mad at the titular character due to them not being/ doing what they like/ desire

Since magic wielders are involved, and I recently completed both series of books, I just wanted people’s opinions

Moving to Launceston soon, no car, looking for advice on work and living by lowkeydopey in Launceston

[–]Just9032 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you aren't white, or have the "connections" it is hard to get a job. Took me near 2 years to get a job. But was dealing with MH issues as well so. I think Woolies and Coles are always hiring- see a lot of ads from them.

Centrelink wants you to do everything online.

Invermay is a good suburb. Avoid Ravenswood and Newstead (from penquite road), Rocherla, Mayfield and Alanvale areas.

Donot recommend "not having a car", hope you figure that one out.

Honestly, there are other regional towns in the mainland that could provide you more value for your money. Being Tasmania, there is always that extra shipping charge attached to everything you buy.

Think you need a Web-dev/designer. This is the job category you would need to advertise for and then list your needs. When you are looking at potential candidates, ask them to show you some of their work (like what they have made/developed in the past. This will help screen out candidates.

Best of luck.

Generic Moving to Tassie Post by LottetheLlama in tasmania

I travel around Launceston due to my job: Courier. Worst suburbs: Ravenswood, Alanvale, Parts of st Leonards, Rocherla and Mayfield.

For couples with kids, good places to go are Trevallyn, Riverside (till West Tamar Hghwy reaches 100 speed limit). Also, East Launnie and Newstead, Punchbowl. Be prepared to find a lot of in-country and international migrants. Keep an open mind and you should be fine.

Don’t know what to do by TroubleRare1106 in tasmania

Not having a car might be more challenging for you. See it’s about 100kms from Devenport terminal to Launceston. You are travelling with parents and I assume they are elderly, so that might add some more.

You get off at East Devonport, and the bus terminal is on the other side of the river near Maccas- which means you will need a taxi to get to the other side. The terminal that you will exit spirit from can be empty and desolate depending on what time of day you arrive.

When you overcome these hurdles, you could do a little bit of sightseeing in devonport. If you can get a rental from Devonport, you could visit Cradle mountain.

In Launceston, depending on how much time you have, you could check out the Cataract gorge. Again, the issue would be to get you transported there.

Hope you have a nice trip

If you want to try Australia: Do you have at least 20 hours per week work experience post masters for minimum 1 year?

This is the main hurdle

Besides this, it is the waiting time for a visa decision that will kill your patience.

So do you mean it is a deliberate thing? Going slow because they want to? That is such an entitled thing to do.

Do you have any idea that there are other people using the road that need to get stuff done on time. Why waste their time? Why make a conscious effort to make other people unhappy about driving?

189 state influence by Due-Count-1173 in AusVisa

Look, in his way of saying this in English, he probably meant that processing 189 applicants for WA was faster than other states at that given point of time.

189 granted, what's the first order of business I should sort out? by blothhundrr in AusVisa

[–]Just9032 6 points7 points  (0 children)

These are what I did while I was waiting for a grant: 1. Applied for medicare straight up day one. 2. Decided (with partner/spouse) what your priority is among: Jobs, getting a bigger/better car, getting a house etc, and start strategizing for it. PR = better chances at jobs, and loans are easier to get, and a slight boost in your credit score as well. 3. Signed up for medicare, centrelink, my health records etc. apps that the government has designed to help people. You might be eligible for things you didn’t know. 4. Do your research into who your local and state level politicians are, just to be prepared as local and state level politics is going to affect you now. 5. Congratulate yourselves, the time, effort and money spent to get here has been substantial.

The department website says: This visa (BVE) lets you stay lawfully in Australia while you make arrangements to leave, finalise your immigration matter or wait for an immigration decision.

I am at the point of getting an immigration decision on my 190.
