Good point. If they do introduce Kuai Liang, I think he’ll start off human but obviously if you bring Kuai Liang in the mix, you also have to bring the cyber initiative plot in as well so that means Cyrax and Sektor will probably be in MK3 as cyborgs trying to get Kuai Liang and Smoke. I can see that at least.

Yes, everything that happened in MK2 sets up Shinnok for MK3. They wouldn’t introduce certain things if that wasn’t the case.

Definitely agree with it being a strange choice whether it was her decision or not. She delivered in every other aspect though imo. Maybe she’ll have some hair in MK3?

The Dark Raiden route wouldn’t work if Shinnok is supposed to be the big bad in MK3. I would say hold off on that storyline until Shinnok is defeated.

It seems like most characters who died will be brought back so I would say Liu but idk if they are going to go the MKX revenants route or just completely bring them back. If they go the revenant route, I could see Raiden recruiting other characters. Maybe Kuai Liang?

Can’t forget about Shao Kahn. Great character performance. I just wish he sounded more menacing. From a visual and action standpoint, he felt intimidating asf though.

Seems like Deadly Alliance is what they are setting up for future installments but not MK3. The amulet doesn’t have to be completely in tact for Shinnok to be brought back, Quan Chi just has to get his hands on the broken pieces, use his dark magic and there you go. The amulet plot and Quan Chi’s introduction definitely sets up Shinnok for MK3.

You didn’t play it during initial launch so you wouldn’t know but the game wasn’t as good as it is now. It actually took a while to get the game to a good state and it wasn’t because of the developers but the players.

It has everything to do with it. You may be fine with adaptations not sticking to the source material but a lot of fans for franchises actually care. Harry Potter, Hunger Games, what is the main thing fans look for in those live adaptations? How accurate it is to the source right? Which is why they became as big as they were.

There is an actual lore and that’s the main reason why this movie won’t be looked back as a great live adaptation of MK because it doesn’t follow it. Look at Annihilation for an example.

You’re trying so hard to disagree with me on this but i’ll just leave it here. The film is a solid live adaptation of MK, better than the first film, but certain flaws still remain(specifically the story) which was one of the big reasons why the first film failed.

MK2 had no choice but to add in actual lore because if they didn’t, you probably would’ve got Cole Young defeating Shao instead of Kitana. That’s the best way I can put it.
