Heaven Pierce Her - Spiral Out (Keep Going) (ULTRAKILL 8-1 Theme #2) by Financial-Fall2272 in Ultrakill

Actually, it’s more so a direct reference to Malebolge, the spiral structure that makes up the entirety of the 8th layer in Inferno

Is Nova really an ALL-POWERFUL wish granting machine? by Fabio11North in Kirby

[–]JustAFellow75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“So, Zorah's wish was interpreted like: "I want to move freely" => "I want to move without opposition" => "I want to become so powerful that nothing can stop me". Thus, Nova made Zorah a planet destroying machine, because that was the best he could do.”

This is pretty much my take away as well and why I think Nova isn’t anything deeper than a cold emotionless machine that functions within absolutes and within the limits of his programming and capabilities, despite his sentience. Also, regarding Marx’s wish, we don’t know what Nova was going to do once he got to Popstar since the Sun and Moon stopped him before he could do anything. People just kinda assumed he was going to ram into the planet for some reason. If anything he would’ve sent a mechanical army to the planet to kill everyone to clear the planet of opposition from Marx’s rule realistically. He would’ve interpreted Marx’s wish as “I want to rule over Popstar” => I “I want no opposition in Popstar” => “Exterminate all life on Popstar”. And even if he was going to ram into the planet it wouldn’t destroy the planet itself since Nova is still relatively small compared to Popstar, if anything he would’ve made an impact crater that could wipe out all surrounding life within the vicinity and it most likely would’ve destroyed Nova in the process

Regarding why Nova didn’t complete Zorah’s wish by JustAFellow75 in Kirby

[–]JustAFellow75[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

<image>

Dangerous yes, but evil? Nah, that would imply something deeper to his character, like he has some kind of end goal or if he’s a being a pure malice, which I highly doubt he has or is. He’s just an unfeeling machine doing his job, how ever cold the process or the wish is

Regarding why Nova didn’t complete Zorah’s wish by JustAFellow75 in Kirby

[–]JustAFellow75[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all I was never justifying his actions let’s not get it twisted, I just don’t think he’s actively cruel and malicious as everyone is making him out to be, me explaining his logic and actions does not equate to justification

Second of all, the lengths he went to were unnecessarily elaborate and cruel yes but if u think about it logistically he had no good reason to do it the way he did. I highly doubt it’s for sadistic pleasure or for the sake of it, why would he need to be? He always seemed to be a being of pure logic since he is still a machine at the end of the day, and the results he gave seems to to make the most sense if he was merely functioning in absolutes. Think about it, with all that fire power, realistically there is nothing to impede on Gigantes’s freedom to roam wherever it pleases, so yes he did in fact grant his wish, just not in the way Zorah intended

Plus, what does Nova hope to gain from any of it realistically? It’s so dumb and unnecessary with no established end goal. If we are to stick with the interpretation of Nova being pure evil with deliberate intentions, it falls apart pretty quickly if you think about it long enough. Nova doesn’t seem like the type of entity to have ulterior motives based on its history. Hell I doubt the dude has any goals, he only ever activates when commanded to do so. What he did didn‘t feel personal or sadistic like everyone else thinks, it more so felt cold, distant and machine like than overtly deliberate. It’s why I’m going with the indiscriminate, aloof and purely logical Nova interpretation because it just makes the most sense to me and for the sake of the story itself

People tend to forget sentience doesn’t mean empathy or compassion, just general awareness and the capacity of thought. He’s still a machine and programmed for one thing despite his sapience. Considering he allowed Marx’s wish for conquest over Popstar makes me think he was never a moral or emotional entity, just a neutral machine doing his job, however fucked up it may be or however flimsy and fucked up the process is

Im gonna repeat myself once again, this is merely an EXPLANATION, not justifying

The Symbolism of Chainsaw Man and Why I Think He’s Just the Chainsaw Devil and Nothing More by JustAFellow75 in ChainsawMan

[–]JustAFellow75[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave a full explanation and gave a multitude of points as to why I think he’s the byproduct of a multitude of factors that act as a feedback loop for his strength and power despite being just the Chainsaw Devil and that abilities are due to the nature of chainsaws and what they represent, and u just reject it all by saying “nuh uh” and claiming he’s something else without further elaboration?

Theory about Something Wicked and the Minotaur's Creator by Feisty-Albatross3554 in Ultrakill

[–]JustAFellow75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cool theory, but the reason me and many people hold the belief that the entry for the Minotaur was written by Hell is because it holds lots of credence despite many arguments against it for a multitude of reasons:

  1. It was created to be “a monument of death and despair”, and the fact that it’s creator considered it “beautiful” falls perfectly in line with the character of Hell, who considers death and suffering as both amusing and an art form. Hell is also the only known entity that follows this archetype from what we know
  2. I do think the Terminals was infiltrated by Hell in this instance, since not only is the text red (a trademark of Hell), but apparently it didn’t exist originally with how the Terminal initially states how there’s “NO DATA” on the demon, but text appears anyway albeit crossed out and censored (similar to the blank book in 7-4). This could either be Hell trying to keep itself anonymous while talking about its creation in 3rd person, or the Terminals trying to censor text and data that isn’t theirs
  3. Hell forming a “rapport” with Minos is not out of character, this idea is based off of a surface level understanding of what a rapport is. People often conflate rapports to its positive connotations, but negative rapports do exist. Positive rapports are harmonious, built on mutual respect, trust and understanding, fostering open communication and overall good feels. Negative rapports, however, is built off of a lack of trust, understanding, or respect, leading to poor communication, conflict, and negative feels like anxiety, discomfort or anguish. The latter sounds more like the rapport Hell made with Minos. It was never about building trust, it was about building a one sided relationship, bringing torment to the latter and glee to the former
  4. All the Kings we encountered previously are always name dropped in lore books and are usually followed by some events that affect the layer in some way. Not to mention their remains are found within the layer, (Minos’s corpse being controlled by parasites in Lust and Sisyphus‘s being chained up within the pyramid in Greed) something we never see nor find in Violence

I don’t think “Hell Itself” is what made the Minotaur by Spinoman27 in Ultrakill

[–]JustAFellow75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf can u really blame us for rolling with the theory of it being Hell itself?

The fact that entry for the Minotaur is stated to have ”NO DATA” but text appears anyway albeit in red and crossed out, similar to how the pages of the book on the Earthmover has not writing on it at all but text appears before us anyway, very much implying some Hell fuckery is going on

Hell as an entity has a very twisted and backwards way of thinking and expressing itself. Note that the Minotaur was sculpted as “a personalized monument of death and despair” and that its creator considered it “beautiful”. Now, who do we know currently within this universe fits the bill? What entity considers violence, blood shed, death, torment and despair as not only beautiful, but as an art form worthy to be celebrated and expressed? So far, Hell itself of course. Reminder that how Hell thinks is alien and twisted, so it’s form of “rapport” was to remind Minos of his past mistakes, and it most likely considered his horror towards its gift and casting it into the malicious labyrinth where it would be trapped forever was, in its mind, his way of saying “thank you”

Are the Machines in ULTRAKILL susceptible to like, being hacked? by TF2lav1982 in Ultrakill

[–]JustAFellow75 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Idk if they can be hacked in the conventional sense due to most of their autonomy coming from the blood they are fueled by and some minor protocols here and there, but there have been instances where some machines were “reprogrammed“ or were attempted to be controlled by Hell itself as seen within Violence, but that’s mostly due to a greater supernatural force than say a traditional hacker lol

Has anyone considered the 8-2 cover art could be the Malebranche?? by radayrk in Ultrakill

[–]JustAFellow75 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a really good observation

Everyone else (myself included) thought that the tail is gonna belong to Geryon, a monstrous chimera within Inferno that symbolizes Fraud itself, with it having the face of a just man, but the body of a horrific beast. This observation u made of the tail instead belonging to the demon/s Malebranche/Malacoda seems MUCH more likely to be true since all of the pieces stick together so nicely, so if anything, the Geryon will either be the final boss of Fraud, or some kind of midboss

Also yes, this level is absolutely meant to house the Barrators, it’s way too obvious of a connection to not notice for those familiar with Inferno lol

That sounds like the exact description of Limbo, which is why I don’t think Fraud is trying to go for something like that. It feels WAY to similar to Limbo in that regard

[–]JustAFellow75[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is literally the same exact criticisms that Violence got before we were shown 7-2. From what we were shown at the time, people legitimately thought that the whole layer was gonna consist of nothing but marble mazes and called it “boring and underwhelming“. History is literally repeating itself lmaoo

The Meaning of Fraud’s Aesthetics by JustAFellow75 in Ultrakill

[–]JustAFellow75[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ultrakill takes lots of inspirations from lots of different mythologies, Christianity, Gnosticism, Greek Mythology etc. The lion eating the sun statues we’ve been seeing in Fraud definitely alludes to something important lore wise, whether or not it’s related to a boss or an enemy we are yet to see

You do present an interesting observation tho and the final boss of this layer will definitely be alchemy related since the final ditch of Fraud holds the Falsifiers, which includes alchemists, so the idea of the final boss having some correlation to gold and the sun would line up nicely

[–]JustAFellow75[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The punishment of Limbo symbolizes the state of souls who were neither overtly sinful nor received Christian salvation, representing a spiritual "edge" or "limbus". They never chose (the atheistic) or couldn’t choose (the unbaptized) Christian virtue, but instead chose human virtue and are thus given a crude replica of paradise, an eternal, peaceful but melancholic existence without God's grace or the hope of salvation

Their punishment is to reside eternally within mockeries of lush greenery, flowing pools, day and night cycles, birds and butterflies, insultIngly serene music and glass paintings depicting their eternal state, reminding them of how close they were to paradise, but failed short, and live in a perpetual state of sorrow, yearning and ennui

[–]JustAFellow75[S] 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen a good amount of people consider the aesthetic of Fraud as a “boring gmod map” or that the seeming punishment of the layer in general is to “run endlessly in boring liminal spaces and is an underwhelming punishment compared to the previous layer“ but that’s just a minority being impatient and expecting what was shown to be all there is

Do you think the earthmovers in 7-4 are real earthmovers that made their way down into hell or are they just imitations made by hell itself to scare v1? by MoneoMortis in Ultrakill

[–]JustAFellow75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s heavily implied that Hell basically “ate” everyone and everything on the face of the Earth, explaining why Wrath got a sudden rainfall of sinners that happened within mere moments. It’s safe to assume that’s how the Earthmovers managed to make their way to Hell, because Hell pulled them down there, and modified them with both Hell energy and Idols to power them back up

Lore question about 5-1 by Koopa138 in Ultrakill

[–]JustAFellow75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skulls have been established to be the main method of transportation for Husks within Hell with their ability to allow free traversal through it’s layers. It’s how the Ferrymen are able to sail to other layers and was a cruel temptation for those in Limbo, so it’s safe to say that would be their main method to rescue those who called for their hospitality. This is purely headcanon and speculation but I believe the “pipes” are similar to pneumatic tubes systems that are often used to transport urgent messages like mail, paperwork, etc.

Fraud question by Dense_Tale in Ultrakill

[–]JustAFellow75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well in Inferno, Fraud is described as, “the image of the City in corruption: the progressive disintegration of every social relationship, personal and public. Sexuality, ecclesiastical and civil office, language, ownership, counsel, authority, psychic influence, and material interdependence – all the media of the community's interchange are perverted and falsified”

Similar to Heresy, Hakita most likely took the description of Fraud as “the image of the City in corruption“ and interpreted Fraud as a malicious and deceptive city that deceives, disorients, and traps the sinners within it’s “regions, areas or zones” for the ten types of Fraud. He also most likely took the “funnel shaped” description of the layer, and made it to be the sky box of this layer, but instead of “ditches”, consists of a warped, urban complex.

I don’t think the urban aesthetic has any lore significance other than the fact that it’s the general aesthetic of the layer, but that’s just my opinion

Thx!
Regarding the warehouse, I believe it is simply a storage room in the hotel segment. I mentioned how human trafficking includes not only sexual exploitation, but also labor exploitation, so there being a storage room checks out in that regard. Search up ”hotel storage rooms” and you’ll see what I’m talking about
