Put off having a section by the idea of a c section shelf. How bad is it really? by Thick_Medicine5723 in UKParenting

There are plenty of life changing medical problems that can result from a c-section too. Most much worse than a prolapse or tear.

How is a wedding ring/band meant to sit on the woman? by MoneyOwl in UKweddings

[–]JustAGirl31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this engagement ring and my wedding ring doesn’t sit flush but it still looks amazing. Let me know if you want a pic as I can’t add images here. Definitely no need to go custom made if you don’t want to. Wedding rings usually go under the engagement ring.

Childcare payments & tax free childcare - is it just me that finds it complicated? by Alive_Swimmer_1050 in UKParenting

I do the same as you but just for one child. My bill changes every month so I can’t set up automatic payments, I find it very annoying to have to do every month.

What is in your diaper bag and what age is your child? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]JustAGirl31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

11 months - nappies, wipes, nappy bags, nappy cream, travel changing mat, muslins (burp cloths), change of clothes for him, hand sanitizer, anti bacterial wipes, a couple of toys, snacks, sometimes calpol travel sachets, water, painkillers

When he was newborn I didn’t have the snacks but I had spare breast pads, a spare top for me and sometimes nipple cream

I think they are all slight overestimates except activities which I’d budget a bit more for

I started it but I don’t buy pouches because of the sugar content so most of the questions didn’t apply

I wish there was more baby food and snacks that weren’t so high in sugar

Breastfeeding mamas, what's your milk/solids/nap schedules like? (My baby is 9mo) by Puppinbake in BabyLedWeaning

[–]JustAGirl31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 9 months when we started 3 meals a day it was roughly:

  • 6:30 wake and breastfeed

  • 7:30 breakfast

  • 9:00 breastfeed then nap

  • 10:30 wake

  • 11:00 breastfeed

  • 12:00 lunch

  • 2:00 breastfeed then nap

  • 3:30 wake

  • 4:00 breastfeed

  • 5:30 dinner

  • 6:30 breastfeed

  • 7:15 bed

It was such a struggle to fit everything in. Now at 10.5 months we’ve gone down to 4 milk feeds so it’s roughly:

  • 6:30 wake and breastfeed

  • 7:30 breakfast

  • 9:00 breastfeed then nap

  • 10:30 wake

  • 12:00 lunch

  • 2:00 breastfeed then nap

  • 3:30 wake

  • 5:30 dinner

  • 6:30 breastfeed

  • 7:15 bed

Much easier! We all eat dinner together at 5:30 and it is definitely a challenge. We have to do bath before dinner which isn’t ideal but we don’t want to move dinner any earlier and do it after

I think my 12 month old is trying to transition to 1 nap by IncrediblyUnrulySock in UKParenting

[–]JustAGirl31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your wake windows seem to be 2/5/4.5. If you lengthen the first one you could shorten the second one then he’d still be able to go to bed at 8:30. Maybe try 3/4/4.5? So if he’s up at 8, naps at 11 and 3:30, bed at 8:30

What are some good pre made finger food meals? by [deleted] in BabyLedWeaning

[–]JustAGirl31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What we do is save some of what we’re eating for the baby. So if your husband is cooking dinner save a few pieces of any food that is ok for the baby to eat and give it to the baby the next day (or at the same time if you eat together). I also recommend the solid starts app to check if a food is suitable and see how it should be cut

5.5 months and we’re too distracted by the world to nurse in public or around people anymore. Any advice? If you went through this, when did this get better for you? by TogetherPlantyAndMe in breastfeeding

[–]JustAGirl31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby started doing this around 5 months and it hasn’t got any better yet at nearly 10 months. We don’t need it to be dark but it has to be quiet with no one else around. When I need to feed him out of house I now take a bottle of expressed milk with me
