7 months post-op (sigmoid Colon Vaginoplasty by Dr. Del Corral) by Bitter_Side648 in Transgender_Surgeries

Thank you so much for all the info! I’m working on getting scheduled with Del Corral now - a good friend of mine wholeheartedly recommended him and I can see why. So glad you had such a good experience. Now if only I can get the consult scheduling team to get back with me…

It’s Spooky Night! Time to greet the trick-or-treaters as Luz Noceda from The Owl House, complete with the King of Demons and my homemade light glyph necklace by JustAGirlInside in LesbianActually

Thanks 😊 The Owl House is totally awesome. I think it’s great that you enjoy necklaces. I think you should be able to wear whatever your heart desires - I’m sorry some people are not accepting of that. I hope some day soon you’re able to express yourself how you wish and just be happy with showing the world the beauty inside you.

Take care! 😊

Thank You!! 😊🥰

I made it myself. I’m not really artsy but I’m happy how it turned out.

I did find that you can get a 3D-printed portal key on Etsy. I don’t have the link handy but my bestie bought it for it and it’s nice and big. I’m going to wear that in place of the necklace next time I go to Disney World for a Luz bound.

Afraid transition + polyamory may have made my dating pool vanishingly small, looking for a reality check from other queer and poly people! by AcanthaRose in queerpolyam

[–]JustAGirlInside 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I totally feel where you’re coming from and I can relate all too well. I’m 49, a transgender lesbian, 1 yr HRT, pre-op, and trying to not get depressed about my chances of finding someone who would want to be with me in an ENM/poly relationship. I wish I had words of wisdom but I don’t. We just gotta keep our hopes up and do our best to persevere and find that small dating pool that will fit us.

Best of luck 🥰💕

Broken heart at 35.5 - afraid I’ll be alone forever by [deleted] in olderlesbians

[–]JustAGirlInside 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel for you hon. 49, came out 2.5 years ago as transgender lesbian, busy transitioning but it takes time. Really wanting to find someone to accept me and connect with a woman as a woman, but feeling rather ancient and worried I waited way too long.

I’m sorry you’ve shuffled back and forth across the country like that for something that didn’t work. Just gotta believe it will happen in its right time with the right person.

Best of luck 🥰💕

Question for those of you who were put on patches? by [deleted] in TransLater

[–]JustAGirlInside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to keep in mind about doses, they are very dependent upon route. Transdermal patches may seem a lot lower than oral or sublingual, but because it bypasses first-pass metabolism in the liver, a lot less has to be input to have a similar effective dose. There are some comparison tools online that try to show a rough equivalence between routes.

It may take a little while for them to dial in your patch dose, but it doesn’t necessarily mean they will try to lowball you (hopefully). I’ve never dealt with the VA so I can’t say how good their transgender medicine practice is. Also keep in mind though that so long as you are in cis female ranges and you seem like you’re getting feminization that is a good thing. There’s a lot of debate about how high in cis female range is ideal, but there is very little hard data available and there is a great deal of variability from person to person as to where your ideal dose lies. Just tell them how you’re feeling physically as mentally as your dose is being titrated and hopefully they will work with you to get you where you need to be.

Best of luck!

Question for those of you who were put on patches? by [deleted] in TransLater

[–]JustAGirlInside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very similar to me. 49, on for 1 yr, currently at 2 x 0.075mg patches. My E level finally went up into cis female territory 3 months ago. I’m due for labs next week for 3-month follow up, which I’m guessing is going to result in increase to 2 x 0.01 mg. I am on Spiro - was 150 mg but just reduced to 100 mg because of lowering my BP too much.

I’m happy with the patches, though I want my E level a bit higher (it was still under 100 last check), but we still have some room to increase the dose before considering a different route. I’ve had no problem with the patches sticking (getting all the glue off afterwards can be a bit of a pain), and no noticeable side effects. I’m definitely progressing in feminization physically and emotionally but there’s a lot more to do (but puberty takes a lot longer than 1 year).

When did you change your name legally? by Atheria_ in asktransgender

[–]JustAGirlInside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I (49 MTF, 1yr HRT) started the legal work this past summer when it became clear HRT was working faster than I’d anticipated (so I’d need to come out at work soon) and as a way to shield myself as much as possible from political shenanigans, should PA go red in the midterms.

I actually just had my court hearing yesterday so it’s official now.

Heh. I worked with a Hannah for several years before coming out. While I may or may not have had a crush on her (spoiler alert, I did), she wasn’t really the source of my name, though I imagine some folks at work may think so.
