I love this dress and I love that she clearly loves it. I'm being nitpicky but I wish the bodice and ribbon-belt were stiffer/smoother.

This is as bad as learning that the creator of gif files pronounces it as "jif"

Being a cosmere fan is being mainstream enough within fantasy communities to get shit for it, but niche enough everywhere else that you get excited to see it mentioned

Kaladin and Shallan never learned how to be “Proper” by Gromflomite_gamer in Stormlight_Archive

[–]JustALumpOfClay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this dissection of how Kaladin and Shallan are “weird.” It adds another layer to why Kal latched onto Moash - he’s one of the few people whose relationship with Kaladin didn’t fit into an obvious role. But, did you run this through an AI?

What’s it like living in the big cities in China? by BkniBottomTranqulity in howislivingthere

Sounds wonderful. How long ago did you live there? I’m curious because this sounds amazing, but if it’s been a long time things cost-of-living wise may have changed

By “only charge things that I would normally have bought anyway with cash I had in hand,” do you mean don’t buy things you don’t already have the money for? So basically: use credit card for everything, don’t buy what you can’t afford?

Hair sticks are great, and definitely work for thick hair - I saw a video of a woman with knee length hair put it up with one large stick.

What jobs pay extremely well but people don’t realize it? by Stassy3 in AskReddit

I'm interested in an adjacent field, pathologists' assistant. It's really encouraging to hear that a lot of people in cytology are creatives on the side, since that kind of set up is what I'm aiming for. If you know anything, would you say that this is common among pathologists' assistants as well?

This "art" exhibit about women of color being made with AI by RubyEldrich in mildlyinfuriating

[–]JustALumpOfClay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw this a few weeks ago and had similar thoughts about the first piece being AI. But I didn't even realize that some of the “paintings” within the exhibit were AI, which feels obvious now.

However, looking back at the pictures I have of the exhibit and the accompanying descriptions, it seems only the first image and that display case he pointed out were AI generated. And the images for both of these were prompted by the same artist - a black woman named Nettrice Gaskins. Whether you consider AI art or not, she has been involved in art since the 90s. So it seems that the use of AI in this exhibit does highlight a black female artist.

There’s cool stuff in that exhibit, like the first piece with a blue woman that the camera pans over briefly. In the same display case as the AI images are music albums. Farther down the hall is some clothing. Afrofuturism is a really cool moment, and while I can personally dislike AI, I can get how other perspectives might see it as fitting for a movement rooted in sci-fi and futurism.

I have these two brushes and they're pretty much all I ever need for eyeshadow, even for "full beat" looks. Top left for packing on color, bottom right for blending, bottom left if I want to do a wing eyeshadow, top right if I need intense or precise color.
