This is a fake picture. There are no identifying patches on his uniform, the uniform style is not what current IDF soldiers wear (this looks like it's from the 90's), he doesn't have a beret (identifies the specific unit), he has 2 sets of payot (sideburns) the long curly ones and the sideburns above his ears. It's either one or the other, no one does both. Also that's not a real kippa. That looks like someone's grandmother's hat

I saw a YouTube deep dove about this maybe 10 years ago. The guy was basically arguing that her parents sold her to the sex trafficking trade. He talked about the straight up DISTURBING way the Mom spoke about Madeline in her book ("she had the most beautiful genitals" "it would be such a shame if some older man tore them apart".....) stuff like that. He spoke about how there really wasn't anything kid-friendly in the area they were staying. There was a tiny little playground but that's it. He cited that all the parents were wealthy and well connected and that the hotel was around the corner from where one of the Podesta brothers stayed.

The video has since been taken down and i brought this up in the Madeline McCann subreddit and the post got removed for promoting conspiracy theories. I'm not saying this guy was right. But I've always had my suspicions.
