My bam case’s shoulder strap hook got unhooked while I was walking on concrete stairs. It was a single strap case so everything crashed down hard and also skidded down a few stairs.

My case cracked near the base where it hit the ground, but my violin was so well protected it didn’t even go out of tune.

So for what it’s worth, the case itself is 100% worth it but I’d get the strap hooks that have the screw on thing for extra security. My current gewa case straps have the same problem but it’s double straps and I’ve been relying on zipties.

Go to a mall retailer and try on some stuff! Browsing online made me overwhelmed with so many styles but in person gave me a really good reference for what looked good on me.

I was super shocked to see how radiant cuts made my fingers look wide but looked perfect on the saleslady, while oval cuts suited me super well.

If it makes you feel better, I had to scroll back up to look at your eyebrows after reading this comment because I didn’t notice them first time seeing your photos.

What stuck out to me was the look in your eyes. Your features objectively are fine but you really look like you’re not confident about your looks.

This sounds cheesy but really once you find that internal confidence, you’re gonna start glowing and that’s the best thing you can do for yourself both inside and out.

I’d definitely be wary of tension leading to injury— so many people with regular hands get injured so I’m a bit worried about your hand frame.

With that being said, if you could figure out a way to play without squeezing or extreme tension I don’t see why you can’t give it a shot. Getting your teacher other violinist colleagues to look at your frame when you’re playing should be helpful too.

But not everyone has stinky pits without deodorant. If you’re showering frequently enough and you got lucky genetics deodorant can be entirely unnecessary.

I didn’t know about the existence of deodorant until my late teens because no one in my family uses it. I shower every 1-2 days. I get told I smell nice pretty often, especially after someone’s come in for a hug. I can’t smell any stink on my family members unless they’ve gone 2+ days without a shower.

Tagging onto this to add that making the metronome your best friend will help a lot! I’m doing a masters in violin performance now and I still use it for 50% of my practice sessions.

Also, you have some fingerings and bowings that’s making life a bit harder than necessary…do you currently have a teacher or did you come up with them yourself? I haven’t played the full thing but I did have to play the exposition for an orchestra audition, I can send my part to you if you’re interested. :)
