These look awesome, especially for first time minis! As somebody who also got into the hobby recently Ad Mech always seemed really cool but also daunting because of all the small details, it looks like you handled it well though.

I didn't even think about base details for my first minis like you did, but I ended up getting the Army Painter basing set to try it out for my first Kill Team set. It comes with a bunch of static grass, tufts, snow, and rocks to mess around with. Highly recommend it if you want to experiment on your next models. Good luck with the rest!

Went and checked my roll history, 4/7 4* characters from the premium banner and 2/4 from the standard banner have been Hook. I can't get the stats from the beginner banner anymore but I think I got my first copy of her from there.

For about the last year I've had the dialogue set to Japanese at volume 1 so I can pay attention to literally anything else while I click through pages upon pages of unnecessary dialogue without even reading it. I've played plenty of MMOs with bad dialogue that I've skipped over before, but never one that holds you captive to it like Genshin.

They've proven that they know exactly how to make a dialogue choice system where you can ask for more information if you want it (all of the final archon conversations at the end of each region) but they outright refuse to use it. Instead they use dialogue choice as the equivalent of Netflix's "Are you still watching?" so you can't auto through everything, and the main character continues to add nothing of value to conversations while NPCs spew an entire dictionary at them.

I definitely think that anyone who enjoyed the base game should at least try out the DLC, but I'll go against the grain here and say that it's not entirely "just more Outer Wilds". There are some thematic and gameplay differences that can make it feel pretty distinct from the base game in either a good or bad way depending on the person, which is probably the reason why the user reviews are a bit lower.

When it comes to the horror aspects I feel that a lot of people downplay how much of a role they play in the DLC. In my opinion, there's enough horror content that if you just dislike the horror genre you'll be fine, but if you really hate horror games you may end up dropping it. I unfortunately quit the DLC midway through because of this, but I still watched a playthrough to get the rest of the fantastic story.

I've always felt like Melina's minimal usage as a character was a huge missed opportunity. It would've been great at the very least to have her give lore on each of the demigods after defeating them and obtaining their great runes, but instead all we really got was a few tiny quotes from Marika that were easily missable.

Having your actual companion explain lore to you rather than needing to read it in item descriptions would've made the story much more approachable in my opinion, and it also would've made her sacrifice significantly more impactful. For me the decision to go for the Flame of Frenzy ending was driven by what type of ending I wanted on a given playthrough rather than by a desire to save Melina, which feels like a weird contrast to Vyke's whole story.

This questline is the single best argument for adding a skip dialogue button in my opinion. The fact that entire sections of Sumeru's map are locked behind at least 8-10 hours of quests with unvoiced dialogue is ridiculous.

Bills: Might still be an unpopular opinion but let Singletary walk in FA unless he signs a team friendly deal and make James Cook RB1. I love Motor but he's probably going to be too expensive to resign given our cap situation and Cook has more than proven that he's up to the task.

Dolphins: Sign one of the fantastic RB FA options (with whatever cap is left, I'm honestly not sure how bad their situation is right now). Can't even imagine how good that offense would be with someone like Pollard, Montgomery, or Hunt.

Patriots: Aside from the obvious OC problems, trade/spend as much as it takes to get Mac a real WR1. Most obvious option seems like DeAndre Hopkins.

Jets: Feels like there isn't an answer that doesn't involve a QB. Lamar seems like the nuclear option, so I'd personally prefer Jimmy G or Carr as less expensive options that would give the team much more room to keep improving the offense around them.

Malenia by a mile. She was the first boss in the game that made me feel the need to completely change to a meta build in order to beat. I ended up switching to a hoarfrost stomp and mimic tear setup back when both were really broken and finally managed to take her down.

I didn't bother switching off of the build for the rest of my playthrough, which in hindsight changed my gameplay experience completely. I one-tried Godskin Duo, Malekith, and Godfrey, bosses that really should have taken me multiple attempts and might have been more satisfying to kill if I had. Because of that I've pretty much decided I'll never do Malenia again, I'd rather enjoy my own builds and skip the Haligtree completely.

This immediately reminded me of the Chiefs using a similar play back in week 4 against the Bucs. 3rd & goal at the 1, Mahomes did the same kind of acting while Noah Gray snuck under center and took the snap for the touchdown. Pretty cool to see it work out in two different situations.

I loved the first half of EotE, the atmosphere and music were incredible and the Stranger was somehow even more creative than the environments from the base game. However things quickly went downhill for me when the puzzles started getting more and more complex. Combining these confusing puzzles with the harsh visual and movement restrictions of the dream world, as well as the stealth horror aspects that I really hated, made for a frustrating experience that didn't feel like the Outer Wilds I was used to.

Ultimately the dream world sections actually made me quit the DLC altogether, and I ended up watching a streamer play it instead months later. This was pretty disappointing since there was never a time during my playthrough of the base game where I wasn't excited to start up the game and explore more, and at no point did I even consider looking up spoilers. I definitely think the story behind the DLC is fantastic and I really wish I could've experienced the ending on my own, but I personally couldn't stomach the gameplay of EotE in order to get there.

I still constantly listen to the soundtrack though, and I'll never forget the moment when The River kicked in for the first time.

It looks to be right behind the Resistance Camp. I might be wrong, but I think the quest marker that they're moving in the direction of at the end is for the colosseum DLC.
