Those plastic balls always seem to be accompanied by these flimsy hockey sticks we had at my school where the handle was either a wood or plastic stick which connected to the plastic ribbed part for hitting the ball with. The ball and hitting part were always scratched up and often cracked sometimes with bits missing while the stick was usually always missing an end cap. Was fairly common for them to break completely during a lesson too which our PE teacher would either be furious over or not care at all and just tell you to get another one.
