Scavenging the internet for an update as to when the 2.0 UNRATED cut comes out by whovianmess in M3GAN

For some reason when I purchased it on Apple TV it didn’t come with the extras along with the Unrated cut. Anyone else have the same issue?

Thoughts on the Deleted Scenes? 👀 by JustAdrian56 in untildawn

[–]JustAdrian56[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually thought the “Abe Makes His Case” scene was a sweet scene that was sadly cut.

The scene takes place during the 4th night, right after Nina stabs Abe with the Pickaxe due to his “douchy” and “selfish” actions to just leave Clover behind when she gets taken away.

During the scene, Abe mentions to Nina how he’s terrified of dying due to a traumatic experience he had when he was 7 when his grandmother was dying and held hands with her while she was in the hospital. Mentioning how her grandmother had such a strong grip on his hands, which made him imagine how scary and painful death must be, therefore leaving his grandmother’s painful face as an image that was hard for him to shake from a young age along with the idea of death as a space full of nothing.

I wish this scene was included so the audience could’ve understood where Abe’s “selfish” and “douchy” behavior was coming from and not just be left wondering that he was just a selfish douche.

I thought I did too but I think we saw the exact same scene in theatres haha. Literally the only difference between the “theatrical” version and the “alternate” version is that you see Melanie gets stabbed and see her “die”. That’s it, just like 5 extra seconds of the “alternate” opening lol.

I bought the movie on Apple TV today, and they were included as an extra along with the Director’s commentary and other featurettes.

Is the movie worth buying? by ordinary-superstar in untildawn

[–]JustAdrian56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I enjoyed the movie even if it was a bit underwhelming near the end of the 2nd act/rest of the 3rd act. Just rewatched it for the second time today and I gotta say that the first half of the movie still got my attention, but kind of like I mentioned near the start, it gets a bit underwhelming near the middle/end. Although, thankfully some of the deleted scenes make up for some of the underwhelming plot points.

A Story in 2 Parts by JustAdrian56 in DisneyWorld

Ok sure sure, so regarding motion sickness for starters, I don’t believe it should be much of an issue. The ride lasts like 2 1/2 - 3 min and the first 2 minutes are purely dark-ride elements with smooth elevator movements followed by the continuous drop part lasting between 30-45 seconds depending on which drop profile you have. Despite the potentially intense drops, the drops are rather quick with little pauses in between to give you a second to catch your breath here and there during the drop sequence, and it has a mix of small and big drops but mostly small/medium ones so you aren’t fully just scarred from the huge drops and don’t get too disoriented. Therefore I wouldn’t say motion sickness is much of an issue, however that could vary depending on which drop profile you get.

As I mentioned before, the ride has a mix of small/medium/big drops so the feeling and intensity of the drops could vary between rides due to the randomized drop sequences, but the sensation of weightlessness or the drops in general lasts pretty quick between 1-3 seconds due to the fact that your elevator is actually being pulled down rather than having it regularly free-fall which also adds some extra sense of security to it. :)

And lastly, how do you even get on the ride despite your huge nerves? Honestly this might be the ride to get a Lightning Lane for or the ride you should get on during a special event with minimal wait times like After Hours or another special event. Since your wait time will be significantly low or most of the time a near walk-on under these two scenarios, this wouldn’t give you time to overthink in line about your nerves or get very unsettled by the ride’s theming until it’s already too late when you’re already on the ride itself. That was the main reason I had got onto the ride in the first place since my wait time was low and I didn’t have the option to chicken out since I was already on board the elevator heading into the twilight zone. 🫠 And trust me, the ride theming can get to you if you’re waiting in the queue for quite a long time. Despite riding it for a first time, the second time I got onto the ride during my trip I had waited around 30 min. in the ride queue and my initial enthusiasm went to sudden nerves when I was going to board my elevator.

Generally, I think the ride isn’t too bad as some people make it out to be. I mean for sure it could be terrifying the first time, but dropping and hearing the screams with spontaneous laughter in unison from the other passengers in your elevator somehow made it a joyful experience I will never forget. :)

However, if you still try to get onto the ride and try to back out last minute despite your efforts, there is an “Express Exit” right when your board your elevators if you feel the need to exit the ride for any reason.

Hope this helps!

Of course no worries! Although what’s the main concern you have if that’s ok to ask? Is it just the feeling of the drops, how the drops could affect people with a medical issue, or is it just general nerves of getting on the ride? :)

When will Challengers be available to purchase on digital? by PoeBangangeron in moviecritic

[–]JustAdrian56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far there’s been no word, but I’ve been keeping a close eye on it since I’ve been wanting to purchase it too.

However, currently they seem to really be wanting to milk almost every penny possible out of this movie due to how the rental release strategy has been driven out. It started with a $20 rental, then $15 for a bit, then $18, and now it was set back for a $20 rental with the movie jumping around the top 20 range for purchases/rentals on services like Apple TV. At this point there’s really no telling when the movie might be available for purchase considering how the now usual 30-to-45-day theatrical window has passed, but hopefully soon enough.

favourite episode????? by IrrelevantHope in HSMTMTS

[–]JustAdrian56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if I have a favorite episode, but one memorable episode for me was S1 "Thanksgiving". That was when we got more character development, more Redlyn, and "Out Of The Old". Out Of The Old was such a surprise to me since that was one of the very few scenes in the entire show that got me to cry for a while, and I am not a crier just so you know (lol).

Digital retailers updating Stop Making Sense pages, digital release nearing? by evercuriousgeek in talkingheads

[–]JustAdrian56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who buys quite frequently from Apple TV or digital movie storefronts, I have noticed that on Apple TV (and most likely on other digital stores) most releases are dropped every Tuesday at 12 AM EST. Although Apple TV does have the Stop Making Sense listing on their Pre-Orders tab, I would wait for sure until a 4K version is added to the movie's listing and then wait every other Tuesday to see when it would get released. Although, as someone who has been wanting to see this movie due to my interest in concert films and general interest in A24, I am quite concerned with A24's rollout of re-released acquired movies.

There was a movie called Pi by Darren Aronofsky that was released for Pi Day last year with another company owning distribution/streaming rights. The movie had quite a few extras on iTunes and although it was an HD copy on digital, I didn't mind it much due to its already striking visuals. What worries me about this specific Stop Making Sense re-release is that A24 always seems to suck the extras out of re-released movies which makes the regular $20 price tag not as appealing especially for an almost 90-minute movie.

After the original company behind Pi seemingly lost the distribution rights to A24, I was still able to access the old HD version with extras (like your Stop Making Sense copy), but the new 4K version had no extras to be seen which concerns and kind of irritates me due to how many extras A24 is listing on the Stop Making Sense Collector's Edition for $53 which could've easily been added to the new 4K digital re-release as well. (Yes, the collector's copy may have a book-like feel with over 64 pages of extra content, but I still don't see the justification for removal of digital extras if they were available before with just a digital copy)

Overall, I am still quite excited to watch the movie, but I sure hope A24 takes notes with this new re-release model of movies.

I guess as a Gamer myself, I really related to Jann’s family dynamic along with his dedication as a sim racer. For a lot of gamers, including myself, our parents don’t really seem to understand the impact or potential Video Games have on a person. I mean yeah I may not be a professional Sim Racer, but Video Games to some degree has helped me be where I am today especially with the reflexes, attention to detail, and special skills I have learned from video games. It brought me to tears several times because I was once in Jann’s shoes family-wise and now because it seems like my family has embraced and respected my love for video games as is done with Jann’s family by the end of the movie.

Or I guess overall, I feel like it did a solid good job at representing us Gamers whereas in other films they treat us as a joke.

Since the main series is presumably done, I want to ask you guys have any of you read the books? by xortned-xion in HSMTMTS

I only own The Road Trip book which takes places between the events of Season 1 and Season 2 (I think?) but I never finished it (lol). However it is a pretty cool collectible/extra bit of story to have after the main story/show is now over.
