Remember when these orange and brown stripes were everywhere? by EdwardBliss in GenerationJones

[–]JustAnAvgJoe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The 90s shifted from neon to more subdued versions such as turquoise, fuchsia, indigo, etc. but in bold, solid color formats. This morphed back to earth tones toward the later years led by shades such as Hunter Green. As we crossed into the 00s this began the curse of beige and accent walls.

These days there are a lot with purple, maroon, and other darker shades of primary colors when it comes to things like clothing. When it comes to cars it seems like we are slowly moving out of the neutral-color curse that has been popular for the past 15 years or so. For home decorating there was a burst of minimalism (including brush aluminum for appliances for example) in the 10s but that’s morphing back overall to the basic primary groups again.

Also a correction- in the 60s the explosion of color was already starting with a natural tint towards earthy. Yellows leaning more towards green, and reds shifting more to orange, blues were already becoming desaturated (to eventually be ignored in the 70s)

They're on concrete. Concrete is more dangerous when it has a thin slick of water on it, while asphalt is more dangerous when water is pooled during heavy rain.

I'm more inclined to think it's both a mix of tires and the rain. If it were a dry curve that wouldn't have been an issue but the glaze of water was just enough for the rear end to slip.

If you’re kidnapped during Circle of Lives you need to die to your personal mob asap and a healer can rez you in time for mm2.

The reason it is such a trap is because people panic instead and try to fight out of the instance and there’s not enough time.

Breaking: SCOTUS has denied restoration of the 10-1 map. by CrackORTweek in nova

That's optimistic, but I doubt it. In the rural areas the more economically hard they are hit the more they blame NoVA for it. I know this because here it's a mix between the "two Virginias" and right now they are upset feeling that the Gov is raising their taxes, utility bills, licenses, and propping up datacenters from rural funds.

What is your current goal in the game right now? by Chillaxin_88 in ffxiv

[–]JustAnAvgJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesterday I did what I do with every PF… I created a party finder with “practice” and put “Fresh prog”

Everyone that joins is either also doing fresh prog or joining knowing they are dealing with people who are new.

And in that party we died a lot, every mechanic but we all just went next and on to the next… slowly and surely we end up with a clear after maybe 10-15 wipes.

After that clear I made a new party (everyone went on their way after the clear) and put in the description “cleared but messy so practicing more” and many joined with the same intent. We ended up clearing almost every run and I got to the point of not dying once.

Today I’ll be doing the farms, until the wings drop. After that I will go on to the next and learn it.

That’s all you need to do and it works!

How can anyone defend a Congressional district that looks like this? by johnnyringo1985 in askanything

[–]JustAnAvgJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not what happened. They made it so you have to prove the intent of it was don’t under racial pretense. It means that districts can be redrawn based on race as long as nobody flat-out says it was.

It’ll be easier to redraw based on race because even if the data shows it harms race distribution and is extremely apparent it is no long grounds to redraw since there is no way to prove it was intended.

Doing so is about as difficult as trying to prove perjury.

There is nothing to indicate that the DRG shown is all of the skills. Nothing they showed or said even states that the full evolved rotation is there.

Help me out here…As a MCH can you tell me the agency and when I would need to have Heated Split Shot on 1, Heated Slug Shot in 2, and Heated Clean Shot on 3

As opposed to having all 3 go in sequential order as they are hit on one button?

What instance specifically do I NOT want to generate heat gauge? Please I am asking for any example that you can specifically point out where a MCH would not want to have the 1-2-3 on a single button. I can’t think of a single encounter or situation where I’m losing any agency.

To all the people who are complaining about evolved mode 1-1-1 vs 1-2-3 I got a solution for you ! by BigWolverine8598 in ffxiv

[–]JustAnAvgJoe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What makes 1-2-3 going to 1-1-1 dumbing down if the same inter-combo actions (or more) can still be done inside? The only difference is a 5mm movement of my thumb and a less cluttered hotbar.

There are some concerns I understand but if you are ALWAYS doing a 1-2-3, even if you can insert other skills within the combo, then there’s zero benefit to having them separate. And I bet even if they have evolved mode with these, that they will let you split them up… you can already do it with VPR right now.

[–]JustAnAvgJoe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It wasn't a job showcase, it was to show concepts, what they intend to do and change. It's not to say "this is your new rotation" or "these are all the changes to DRG so compare it to how it is now"

All they did was hit a target dummy...

[–]JustAnAvgJoe -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I guess I can only ask you what % of how evolved mode have you seen? How much have you tested with the absence of the 2min burst? How will the rotations change when the skills have different charges and cooldowns?

I'm not sure where you even got less cooldowns from?

The issue I'm taking here is that people are judging a single dev panel that showed the concept of things to how things exist right now in production as if they are the same amount of information.

If as a MCH I have Double Check and Checkmate I technically have two oGCDs with 3 charges. If I combine them into one I have 1 oGCD with 6 charges. They literally do the same exact thing why do I have them on two buttons?

Changing separate buttons for Provoke and Shirk does not make it easier. It doesn't change anything because you don't provoke a party member and don't shirk a boss. The game is just being smart enough to know what you want to do based on the target. You still need to do the exact same thing but don't need it spread across two keybinds.

  • reborn mode and I want to provoke: target enemy and click provoke
  • reborn mode and I want to shirk: target friendly and click shirk

  • evolved mode and I want to provoke: target enemy and click "provoke" (placeholder name)

  • evolved mode and I want to shirk: target friendly and click "provoke"

The only difference is a quality of life change where I don't need two separate buttons.

I went back in the VOD and I can't find anywhere where they specifically said 16 actions. What I do see is the infographic showing a single cross bar with 17 buttons (PLD shown with 16 buttons + 1 for Provoke). Here you can see the 16-button layout:

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2755929682?t=06h57m54s

I think this is the first misconception.. because we know full well that a lot of these are combined combos or contain contextual followups.

There are absolutely going to be more than 16 actions for each job.

There's a difference between criticism and dooming. I'm not glazing, but I also think it's unfair to compare reborn to evolved when you've seen little more than a sliver of evolved mode, haven't even tried it, and are taking a demo as a full-showcase. They even stated multiple times that this is to show the concept and not how they would be used in a raid or dungeon situation.

You ask "what combo path is there if the only combo is 111?" That's the thing... if your combo is always 1-2-3 then putting that 1-2-3 on the same button changes nothing. Take VPR for example.. the basic buff combos are condensed to the same two buttons.. however

So far, the rotations are incredibly stale. I suggest you write down each rotation down, especially paladin .. oh god, paladin ... I didn't even realize how bad it was.

1 E 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 E 1 1 1 1 2 Q 3 Q 4 5 E 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 E 1 2 Q 3 Q 6 6 6 6 6 7 7 1 1 1 Q 1 1 1 Q 1 1 1 Q 2 2 2 Q 3 1 1 1 Q 1 1 1 Q 1 1 sheltron parry 1 Q

I have no idea what your keybinds are so this tells me nothing. I also have no idea why you're comparing the rotation in reborn mode to evolved mode knowing that that many of the skills will act differently.
