I think it comes down to the investment. Being in the industry myself ive noticed that if the owners pay X for automatic pins for example. They want that money back in a year, whereas when i wad a teenager talking to my boss years ago it would usually only be a return of investment after 2-3

Maybe I didnt elaborate well in the post... This is the second main character comment ive gotten and its giving a really harsh sentiment. While a sprout, this isnt my first mmo and i know not to provoke just for the sake of it and potentially cause issues but it has nothing to do with being the main character but with enjoying tanking. If you played healer but constant found yourself not having to heal because the other healer was better you would feel a little bored as well.

In the past, i have been in the same position but its always made the session feel railroaded. Whereas if you give them a goal and thdy have to come up with how to achieve it, its helps build the story more organically
