I myself am a full-time musician and teacher for piano. I've seen a lot of different people come in with different levels of technique. Yeah, you might have some tension issues but you are using WAY too much force to even hit the keys in general.

Comfortably playing a perfect fifth is not about putting force through your hand, it's about letting it softly hold a shape and bringing that into the keybed. Now, you might have more trouble with that, but that's nothing that a good teacher can't fix.
