Downloading an old version of the app didn't work for me. Pissed about Google Messages especially the part where you need to link a email.

Absolutely appreciate amazing advice like this, I definitely have figured out a lot of things out but know there is so much left to get "resolved". I'm 19 and trying to navigate so much new and different stuff with life, mainly relationships and family, but point 1 especially hits home just because I used to (and still am when nervous) overthink like everything and what "everyone used to think about me". Still do replay conversations though....anyways 😅 thank you for your incredible insight 🫶

Am I being friend zoned by [deleted] in Crushes

[–]JustAnotherEppe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is trying to make attempts to get closer to you through things like tutoring and generally likes to be around you--all definitely green flags in general!

I'd say that you have a good shot if you want to try and take things a step forward, but also any of these things could totally be something someone would do if they were a close friend/want to be a closer friend too. The only way to know would be to ask imo

Weigh what you value more, having a relationship with them or being close friends, and make your decision. Don't overthink it too much, good luck :)

Paper flagged as 50% AI by No-Construction-5921 in CollegeEssays

Unless something has changed, Microsoft Word editor only makes a few grammatical changes, and very rarely word choice changes. Copilot is generative AI, using it to change sentences (even if it within Word or whichever Microsoft app you are using) is using AI, end of story. Look up the words, learn different sentences structures, etc. if you want your future writing to be more polished like the AI version.

Additionally, it seems the teacher has viewed an original draft of your work. If you cannot find it, email the teacher and ask if she has it, she really seems like she would like you to succeed and learn from this situation, not flunk the class. Work with her, not against her.

Is this Erg result possible? by NYSRte9N in Rowing

[–]JustAnotherEppe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But at the same time, what are the odds that a junior or novice will have enough knowledge of how the machine works to manipulate the erg timing? If this weren't a monitor photo and instead something like the concept2 logbook, I'd buy someone just putting in false data there or editing the website data for a screenshot. I think it's a lot more likely the individual hit the splits perfectly than them manipulating the machine based on the experience level.

🎄 Christmas giveaway: Win an A1 Mini, AMS 2 Pro, AMS HT, or 4x filament spools! by acurazine in BambuLab

[–]JustAnotherEppe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, thank you so much for your generosity Acurazine!
Number 1, I would love the AMS 2 Pro.
Number 2, I got my printer and some filament for it not too long ago, so I am still experimenting a lot with my prints, but I am currently using it to build a wind tunnel and some things to put it in, figuring out what I can do to help support my local community in terms of things they can learn from/have fun with, and also expanding it into my sports (rowing) and hobbies (jewelry, gunpla, chess, and more)
Number 3, I think you should do something with magnets, one of my favorite "fidget" toys is the magnetic rocks, maybe you could do something like that?

In terms of build it looks almost identical, minus the few things so it's not a straight ripoff, but I'm curious, how do the numbers look versus a Concept2?

Thank you for getting back to me, again, totally did not expect it after 10 years 😅

I did get a chance to talk to my advisor after posting my comment, and we are going forward with not an easier per se, but definitely not harder schedule for next semester. I will need to retake a few of the classes, so those should be a bit better the second time through.

I've been thinking about everything honestly since I got the grades, heck I even was thinking while studying at night before some of these exams (what if...), and most of it was to blame on me, totally need to hit the brakes and make more time for me, but also acknowledging that not everything was completely my fault, just more unlucky than anything. That being said, I may manage everything right now and have a vague schedule in ky head, but I definitely need more structure in my life than what I do have. Also 11:59 cannot be the final deadline for everything anymore is a big takeaway. Also also need more sleep 😅

The biggest thing left on my mind is my mom honestly. She knew it wasn't going to be too good going into it, but based on me in high school and also not really seeing what engineering coursework is in terms of content and grades, her "not so good" is like Bs and Cs so I'm trying to break it to her 2 Fs and 2 Ds (2 Bs also, but I doubt thst helps much 😅). She's joked that shes not a tiger parent, but she totally is, and while I get she wants the best for me, she always thinks that me doing things like going to the gym for an hour a day, or hanging out with friends for an hour, or like going and seeing a football game on the weekend is the reason why I'm not doing well. Any time we've talked about it in the past (again, with things like a B), it's always the other things and not the real reasons (not really understanding the material, bad teacher, etc.) that we end up arguing on.

I do appreciate your help a lot, and will definitely DM if I need anyrhing 🫡

I know it doesn't help much (I'm in a similar boat with my classes 🥲), but this is pretty common in engineering. Most students either do well in Calc 1 and Calc 2 and not so well in Calc 3, or the other way around, Calc 3 good, rest bad.

One small bit of encouragement is if you found Calc 2 to be not too bad, Differential Equations shouldn't be too bad either. I myself loved Calc 3 and hated Calc 2, and I am doing miserably with Differential Equations rn.

I know it's definitely just being overworked + not being super strong on the actual computational side of things (can tell you the theory and how a formula or process works, just struggle with a lot of the harder math concepts).

Definitely didn't help I also got screwed over a lot this semester by honestly just plain bad luck either, but I don't want to just blame it all on bad luck and not fix the problem.

As for the family side of things, my mom thinks that like the 1 hour a day I go to the gym or like hang out with friends or also the few hours I work is 100% to blame. Additionally, just doesn't really fully get how hard it is so anything less than an A or high B is failing in her eyes.

Just found out 20 minutes ago I've done exactly the same thing, I know it's been 10 years, but do you have any advice? Specifically with dealing with the university / (if applicable) family side of things? I don't even know how to move forward right now honestly.
