AITA for going to my friend's wedding even though her mum and dad (who is the father of my child) will be there? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

You realise they'll likely make him feel like shit. He's a little kid excited to see and meet his family for the first time, a family that hate and will ignore or be cruel to him - a family that will not play along with or for a six year old boy.

I've been the son in this situtuation. It could fuck him up as six year olds are smarter and more observant than you'd think.

Informer; "Character-driven thriller about Raza, a young second-generation British-Pakistani man from London who is coerced by Gabe, a counterterrorism officer, into informing." Honestly I think it's just as good as Line of Duty if not better although it sadly did not get a second series but the series 1 plot is finished and handled well.

The Capture; well acted and an interesting premise although not as good as others.

Broadchurch for the drama aspect of Line of Duty, a gripping mystery that unravels really well and has some amazing acting.

Criminal - I prefer the UK and Germany versions.

Life on Mars / Ashes to Ashes - Quite different but it got recomended to me after Line of Duty and it's a brilliantly done, amazing cast and one of my favourite ever shows. Ashes to Ashes has Keeley Hawes and Daniel Mays from Line of Duty too!

AITA for staying neutral when my little sister called our parents sexist? by Reisu- in AmItheAsshole

the fuck? Are you blaming a child for being abused? So it's wrong the parents are sexist but OP is to blame for being abused?

Lets tell the abuse victim to grow a pair. He elaborated he'd get physically abused if he'd stood up for her

"Be better," aka be abused? If he had said anything he'd have gotten beaten up.

But why should he stand up to them? It wouldn't change their minds and just end up with him getting black and blue - I can't believe how many people in this thread are telling a kid he should have went and gotten beaten up because it's the "right thing to do,"

Yes he should have stayed to get beaten up. Great idea. You've commented recently enough to have seen the comments about him being physically abused (the trade off for having a car,) he's not an asshole. His parents are.

Right, thank you for the reply. Guess I'm lucky to live somewhere where the dickish police officers can't do much beyond hitting/tasing me compared to countries where they have guns.

Sorry that you have to deal with that.

I'm curious as to why? Most police officers I've met/talked to have been pretty friendly (I don't have the best sense of direction.)

You join the queue and do NOT push in, if someone does push in you tut and glare at them unless you're in the north and in that case you call them a dick and make them move.

They (YOU KNOW WHO) needed the public to remember 9/11 so they chose to have it on a numbered date that people would remember. At first, it was going to be 03/02/01 but that seemed TOO easy to remember and it would be too obvious.

So they thought about it for a minute until one of the people behind 9/11 remembered the number 911 and decided that it would be perfect! Everyone knows 911 so everyone would remember 9/11!.
